First, you'll need to set up
the Roku app on your phone.
It's available for free on both iPhone and Android devices.
Once the app is downloaded and installed on your device,
connect your smartphone to the same WiFi network
as your Roku player.
Open the Roku app
and tap "Devices" at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Then tap on your Roku device
or click "Remote" to access the remote via your device.
Your phone should now be connected to the Roku as a remote.
If you don't see your device,
try restarting either your phone or the Roku
and then checking again.
Now on the Roku screen, using your device as a remote,
go down to "Settings."
Navigate to "Network,"
then "Set up connection,"
then "Wireless."
Now click "OK."
Let your Roku search for a new WiFi signal.
When it finds the one you want,
select it and enter the password.
Once you connect to the new network,
your virtual remote will disconnect.
You'll need to connect your phone to the new network
and reconnect it.
