  • Yeah, living in Japan has taught me to keep things clean as much as possible and every week if you live in japan you'll see that japanese apartments become quite dusty very quickly and you have to dust almost every day.

  • But because of our busy schedules it's very difficult.

  • So I try to clean at least once a week, although I know that's not enough.

  • Yeah, Japanese apartments are small, ours is a bit larger than most but storage space is lacking right now.

  • Okay, we got this, I put it all on the floor because I wanted to see what I had going on here.

  • Although these apartments have honed a negative stereotype in the past with Marie kondo's help people around the world have realized how important minimalistic living is, especially in Tokyo.

  • Alright, so I attempted to organize this as much as possible.

  • We have some rice, here's some of the things that I have in here.

  • Um I got this organic bread on Amazon, it literally has five ingredients, it's supposed to be eaten within 10 days, but it's rye bread and I got pumpernickel bread and it's really good.

  • It tastes kind of like a cake.

  • I got like three different kinds of rice.

  • I have wild rice, I have jasmine rice from amazon and I got some brian brown rice at the supermarket.

  • So this is my rice section, I have some sweet potato sort of chocolate snack, it's not allergenic, so I can eat this and then I have my biscuits, almond biscuits, granola bars have some vinegar and um cooking stuff.

  • So apple cider vinegar, we have beans, pinto beans and black beans, coconut oil, lots of healthy things, which is good.

  • I have coconut water in the back that I want to try some of my kombucha that I ordered on amazon, this is like complete natural kombucha.

  • So yeah, that's all I could really fit into this.

  • Okay, this is the last time I'm ordering Uber eats, I swear to God, so I have the app in japan, I'm gonna order this, I view my cart and this is my delivery.

  • So I'm going to order this.

  • My Uber eats has arrived, so I'm going to take a little break and then I'm going to continue cleaning today.

  • Look at this, it's so funny, it's not carbonated or anything, it's just legit green tea or green tea.

  • Oolong tea.

  • I think it might be green tea actually, I'm not sure, but it's t and it's in a can, this is my kid bob, it's just literally chicken lettuce in like a yogurt, spicy sauce and then it came with like a tiny thing of fries and 70 so this is a big lunch but I'm excited, there's so much regret going on in my head right now, you have no literal idea of how bad I feel about eating that.

  • Give up.

  • Anyway, I'm probably not going to eat dinner today because I'm so full, let's continue cleaning, wow.

  • Yeah.

  • Mhm.

  • What?

  • Mhm.

  • Okay, so this is the cool thing, this is our shower room slash bathroom.

  • So basically I am going to heat up this room.

  • So it's the same thing as if you were to put it in a dryer but it takes much longer so we're gonna close this just a little bit just to see if it kicks on, I'm gonna turn this on, so I'm going to turn this on and this is how many hours it can go, so we're gonna put it for like five hours.

  • So this is the heater and then you can hear it too, like the heat kicking on so this is gonna get warm, let's see starting to turn on and then the whole room is gonna get hot and then this is gonna dry pretty fast kind of fast.

  • I managed to kind of organize the cupboards a little bit.

  • Not exactly but um it was a lot messier before, sorry, I didn't show up before and after but yeah I put things in bags just to kind of keep things together and I have my bentos and like containers over here, we need some shelves.

  • Clearly the next thing that I'm gonna do is I'm going to clean down the counters and I have something called Simple Green.

  • I found it online actually you can get this in any or most japanese supermarkets but lately I haven't seen it so we, I bought it online and it comes like this and then you put water in this container and then mix it with this and you have a lot that will last you for a long time and I love the smell of this just because everything smells super clean with simple, simple, clean green, wow, I can't talk.

  • I feel like this does the job more than like a japanese brand cleaner thing.

  • This is one of the best things ever because it cleans a really really strong stains off of anything including glasses or cups or plates um but also like on your walls and everything.

  • So they look like little sponges and it has this cute little angry character on it.

  • It looks like he's about to attack those tough stains.

  • Maybe just kind of clean the counter a little bit over here.

  • So we have this little thingy that you can get at the dollar store and uh it cleans out your little sinkhole.

  • So I'm gonna throw in one of these babies down the drain and I'm gonna put in this and it's supposed to bubble up and kill all the germs in your sink.

  • Yeah duty is cooking.

  • I still don't know what it is, but okay, what is this?

  • Can't you put that in there when you make like shabu shabu um Yeah, it's to make the broth the combo has, what is that?

  • This is the potato.

  • Never seen it.

  • No, only that I have, wait, I have had that.

  • It's really good.

  • Where'd you get this delicious looking for pooja.

  • Um diet.

  • Oh my goodness, this looks so healthy.

  • Money has been tight.

  • But I have so much hope for this place as we plan to settle down here for a couple of years organizing despite the lack of furniture still helps me declutter my mind and makes me feel refreshed and makes me appreciate the things that I have.

  • It's like therapy.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Be sure to throw things away you aren't using or give things away to people who may need it.

  • One thing I found in Japan is that a lot of people here don't want to waste anything so things get cluttered fast even though the item or product isn't used, also not gonna lie sorting garbage in Japan is such a pain.
