Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hello. - Hello. - Hello. (Eddy) Look who's back! It's been a while. Yeah! Today we're back with Ray. I'm sure everyone already knows who Ray is. But if you don't, he's what our parents wish we were on the violin, basically. Yeah, he was our hopes and dreams. Dude, it got too real too quick. Today we're gonna be playing a game. We have 21 melodies that's been pre-selected for us, but nobody has seen them. One of us will be playing, and the other two have to see who can recognize it first. If they do, they pluck. The first person that strums a chord gets to try and complete the melody. So they have to play for another 10 seconds. If they play it correctly, they win a point. If the other contestant spots a wrong note... they can challenge to steal the point. One other thing... we got a punishment... that we haven't told you about yet. Why- Why are you acting as if I'm gonna be the one punished? Actually, this game is probably like, favoring you. - 'Cause you're actually a soloist. - Yeah, it's favoring you. - You know the repertoire. - So... tell us what the punishment is gonna be. The punishment is... We have these... maid cat ears. - And you're gonna put it on. - Oh, I remember. And take a selfie, and post it on one of your socials. - Alright. - Are you down? - Yup! Let's do it! - Oh damn... I have no fear. - (Ray) I have no fear. - Oh no! - (Eddy) Do you have the cat ears? - Just to show the people- - Oh yeah. Here you go. This is the cat ears. Nya. Alright, what chords are we plucking, by the way? I want E major 'cause of "Eddy." Then I should be D major. - 'Cause Ray (Re). - Re. Then I'll be... - B major. - B, B major. Yeah! Scissors, paper, rock! Guess I'll play first. Oh yeah yeah! Alright, that should be about it. Freak- I think one of these... one of these notes... ...you might have missed, like... Oh yeah, damn! Damn! You just destroyed! I didn't even try. I was like, "I don't know that run." (Eddy) Yeah. Okay. - But I've never played this before. - (Eddy) Dude, I've never played- But I've never played it either. - I don't know. - I don't know. I don't know how to play it. I've never played it. - I don't think that counts as a point. - Yeah. Dude, I've played it, and I can't even remember the notes. Oh wow. Okay. I'll let you go. Nah, you can do it. - Really? - Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sounds pretty right to me! I'm not used to playing these games where actually having like... - good-sounding playing. - (Brett) I know. I was like, "I don't wanna play the game." "I just wanna listen." I'm just annoying. Oh no. - Oh yeah, it is that. - Okay. - I don't know if I'm comfortable with Ray just glaring my left hand. - When- when- He's like analyzing- When did you last cut your nails? 10 weeks ago. Nah, like 2 weeks ago. Yeah, he saw my nails. That's why he's looking. - I would say that's a good and solid one. - Yeah. Nice, nice. Yeah, one point! - Ooh, that was same. - I think Brett was first. I heard Brett first...to me. I want a replay. I wanna watch the replay. Oh, you can't look. Oh, right. Yeah, that's right. Oh, you could not have gone after- Oh okay, alright. I knew there was like a limit to this. Damn! 2–2. Okay. Oh, come on! Yeah, Beethoven... Alright. - That was so epic! - That was so good! I heard a- - Yeah, I think he went first. - Yeah. Alright, that was so- Wow! Was that the right rhythm? I would say that note... That appoggiatura felt a little bit more like a quaver. Nah, I'll give it to you. - Alright, alright. - Okay, phew! Hey, not bad! 3... 3–3. - Wow! - Wow, I did it. Scissors, paper, rock! Scissors, paper, rock! Scissors, paper, rock! Alright. I'll play. - Alright. - Ah, okay, okay. I'm nervous! It's okay. I'll be gentle. What? - Dude, that was literally one chord. - (Brett) That was so quick! But now I'm questioning myself. - This could be two- There's two pieces. - It could be two things. There's two pieces. It's either- But I'm gonna go with this one. - Right? - Yeah. - Let's just stop there. - (Brett) Nice. Yeah. - Alright, I think I got it. - Alright. Okay, okay. - Okay, that's good. - Yeah, tsk... Intonation a little- Dude, I don't wanna play next to you, bro! I didn't realize quarter tones- - That was pretty equal. - I couldn't tell. That's pretty equal. What do we do when it's equal? Scissors, paper, rock! EHEHE!! That's if you can reach the note. (Ray) Intonation counts, too. You're in trouble! - First two- ****ing hell! - No, go for it! I've never actually played this. - Is that right? - Mm... - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah. - I don't know the rhythm. - What comes next? Alright! Get ready. WHAT? What the heck is that? It's what you're playing. - (Eddy) Sibelius. - OH MY GOSH! WHO DOES THAT IN ONE BOW??!! - He's playing Sibelius in 3 days. - You made it sound- I though it was some Chinese piece... So you split the bow? That was a good save there. A good save! - It's interpretive intonation. - There's two lines though. I was joking. 3–1. Oh my gosh. I'm actually losing. I actually don't know this one. It depends how I play it. I feel like, the way I play it affects. Oh my god! I was too conservative. I should've just gone for it! Bro, I'm going all out after you bullied my intonation. Man, you did like a breathing technique there. You're like... Dude, I'm nervous! "First form!" - (Brett) First form, yeah. - Yeah. "Total concentration breathing!" "Don't get shaky bow!" (Brett) Oh, dude. - Alright, I gotta just pluck anyway - 4–1. - even if I don't know it. - Yeah, yeah, I think so. I think so. And figure it out afterwards. - That's my new strategy. - (Brett) Oh, have fun. This is gonna be so fun. Oh yeah. - Yeah... There you go! - It could've been Prok. You thought it was Prokofiev? Oh, it could have been. Right. You like that bow change? At the, at the frog? - Yeah. - I'll teach it to you sometime. I'm winning but I'm losing. Yeah, yeah! - Trash talk, it's all part of it. - Yeah, yeah...! Okay, last one. - Your strategy worked last time. - (Brett) Yeah—hoho, okay! Come on, it could've been Brahms! It could've been anything... OHH!! You played a wrong note! - No, I was just—! - You played a wrong note! - What, really?! - Yeah! -Yeah! - (Ray) Really?! - Dude, I played this in uni, like, 50,000 times. - Ohh... Here. You missed the E. You went: - That's what you— Yeah, it is. - But that's not a wrong note! I played the... the E! No, you went, E... F. But it's E, E, F. You played E, F, A. - What if I just slurred it in? What if I slurred it in? - (Brett) Hahahaha! This E. You can't slur that entire... Yeah, yeah, that's right! That's right! I tried, I tried. Wooo! It's like, I should've— Hahaha, yeah, just—! I think that's what I did before... That's why... my bowing was like that. Yeah. Well... I mean, you're the judge, Brett. Who gets the point? Yeah, that wasn't right. Okay... (Eddy) Woohoo-hoo-hoo! Woohoo! Was that... C sharp? Oh—! Was that long enough? Does that count? - I, I think you struggled there for a second. - Aaugh! Would you like a go? - All right, okay. - All right. Hah! - Hahahahah! - What was with that checking?! No...! That is... It is. But you played G... No? - He played A. - Oh... I dunno what comes after that. That's okay. You... - Whatever... - Did either of us get it? - I don't know. It's a bit questionable... - Maybe it's a—I feel like maybe this is a zero point. - We both couldn't... - ...Zero, yeah, okay. Ready? - Total Concentration Breathing, first form! - *Ha-ssssss...* Ohhh... I, I can't tell... - Scissors, paper, rock. - (Eddy) All right. (Both) Scissors, paper, ROCK! Scissors, paper, ROCK! Aaah, no! No...! I'm not sure I know it, though. - All right, all right, all right, that's very good. - Yeah, yeah, you got it. That's— - Daaamn, you got it! - I don't think I would've been able to do that. - I, I... - Really? Yeah. I would not have been able to remember that. Well, I was pretty out of tune, but... - No, it was good, it was good. All right. - Wooo! - Now, you've got this... Total Concentration Breathing. - All right. First form! - ...yeah, yeah. Okay, okay. - Yeah, okay. Hang on a second. I... A thought suddenly occurred to me, it's like: How many points does Brett need to beat me? 'Cause at this point I think you're in the lead. Yes. - And... - I mean, if I deliberately lose, I could frame it so you lose. Ohh, hahaha!! But... that's not in the spirit - of this competition. - How many points do you have? - (Eddy) So you need to... - (Brett) ...get two more? - (Eddy) ...get more than two to beat him. - (Ray) Okay. - If you get two, well... two, it's a tie. - Yep. - (Ray) Ooh... - Okay. Oh, my god... - I'm just gonna play like I play anyway. - (Ray) Oh my gosh... Aw, sh—f***! F***! Sorry... - All right, all right... - Okay, okay. Yeah... But, you know what? You took, like, two notes on that note... Sorry. - And according to what you did earlier... - Hahahaaa! that's two notes, and it's not one note. You know what I mean? Well, I played one note, and... - I just messed up my bow— - And then you're like, I should've been like, "Oh, sorry..." At least my rhythm was accurate. 'Cause when you changed it, you also changed your rhythm. - You were like...! - Do you wanna fight this?! I'll prove your rhythm was dodgy as well! - I'll fight this! - (Brett) Ray's like, "Okay..." - Next one... - But Ray should be fighting for you, because... - Yeah, that's true! That's true. Yeah. -It's true. - Yeah, I'm trying to help you out, man. - Thank you. You've got... - ...three more games. - Or maybe Ray wants to wear the... (Ray) NO. - S***. Damn! - You were definitely first. (Brett) Oh! Okay, okay, fine. Okay. I'm gonna make the next two a little more challenging by doing... a different interpretation. (Both) Ooooh! - Okay, okay, okay... - (Ray) All right. All right. That way, it's not so obvious from the beginning. Okay, okay. It's gonna be very, let's say... INTERESTING - ...intepretation. - Ohh, okay! - Okay, okay, okay. You know what? I kind of... don't want Brett to lose, so I might just... What?! Ahahahaha!!! Mmm, very nice! - Wow! - Yeah! That was good, right? Yeah. - It was hard to tell. - Yeah. - That was very hard. - That's not even interpretation, - that was like, "What is this?" - And then you went— - And I was like, "Of course!" - Distort—distortion. It's just two notes! - Nice. Take that. - All right. I kinda want you guys to tie. So then we can do a tiebreaker. No... All right, this one: Ohh, are you sure, bro? How did you get that from that?! Wow! - All right, Brett somehow knows when you play wrong, - What a YOLO. - like, bad interpretations. - Wow! Yeah, I get it straight away. - (Eddy) I think we should do a tiebreaker, - (Brett) Oh, no... (Eddy) which means... (Eddy) I'm gonna play something off the top of my head... Oh! And see... How many should I do? Three? - The first person to get two points... - Okay. ...in this tiebreaker wins. Hmm... Oh... - Right? Yeah... - Yeah. Yes. - Yeahh! Wow... - All right. Okay. - Damn. Nice. - Damn, that was good. - I think I heard Ray first. - I think Ray went first, yeah. - Oh, okay. What is that...?! What the...?! - OHH!! - Oh! OH! HE PLAYED A WRONG NOTE! I feel like you were mocking us, - but then you just actually made a mistake. - No, I, I'm like... - this one, I don't really play it that often, so, so it was like— - Ohh. - I was, like, really scared of my intonation. - Ah. What? That's so many wrong notes. Really? I didn't hear a single wrong note. Sounded perfect to me. You're kinda off camera right now, Brett... Sorry!
