As you may know from the title of this video, I got beef for free by doing my taxes.

Also if you hear a buzzing, that's Cicadas, they're very loud, I'll give you a taste of the sound.

The title of this video is not Clickbait but I have fooled you in yet another way because I didn't just get beef.

I got a whole bunch of things.

Part of this video will be me explaining how you get the beef and assorted goods by doing your taxes and the other part will be me eating the beef.

So the thing that I'm talking about is called, which means hometown tax, you gotta pay your taxes right?

But why don't you pay them early and get free beef?

So so you live in Tokyo and when you do taxes, you taxes go to Tokyo and Tokyo uses that money to do stuff.

Great.

But maybe Tokyo has too many people paying taxes and maybe other prefectures don't have that many people paying taxes.

So why don't you spend some of your taxes that would go to Tokyo and send them to another prefecture?

Like Oita Prefecture, Nagasaki, Miyazaki not gonna the other ones.

And because they're so grateful that you send some of your tax money to that prefecture, you're going to a little present and the president can be something from that prefecture.

So let's say I give a bunch of money to Miyazaki Prefecture and I say, hey, I would like some beef in return for that money.

Then you get the beef and because I'm going to be paying that tax money anyway, it's free, but you are paying your taxes early.

So that's the thing, you do pay for it initially, but then you get that amount taken off your taxes when you pay them the next year, we interrupt this video for a quick announcement.

So you can get basically anything out of this tax system, it doesn't have to be, food doesn't have to be beat.

You can get holidays, places you can get fruits, vegetables, technology, you can get toasters and probably washing machines and headphones and rice cookers and everything.

There's so much to choose from.

The way it works is you go into one of these calculators, you can find one of them on rocket on, you go on and you type in how much you for the year If you have a salary job, it's pretty straightforward.

You just type in your salary.

But if you're a freelancer, you kind of estimate or throughout the year you can be like, hey, so far this much and you can kind of spend that amount.

That's how I do it.

So, so you make five million yen in a year, you put that amount into the calculator and then I'll tell you how much you can spend on the site and then you're going nuts.

There's all these categories is like seafood, meat, fish, that's in seafood, fruit and veg technology stuff, interior stuff, like betting you go through everything that you want and you can spend your amount after you do it.

They will send you a certificate saying that you spend a certain amount on saturday.

And then when you do your taxes, you submit those certificates and you get that amount taken off of your taxes that you would have to pay otherwise.

So I did this and throughout this year I've been enjoying all of the things that I ordered and I filming it.

I'm gonna send you over to past Emma while she picks out what she wants and maybe I'll pop in later.

So today is the 31st of december.

I don't know when this video is going to come out.

It depends when I get all my stuff.

But the reason I'm filming it today is because it's the last day to do cause I don't know, I just thought this is really neat and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Okay, now for this, everything's going to look super expensive.

It's not actually about how much the items are worth.

You're not paying $300 for exactly $300 worth of beef or whatever.

It's more, you're giving a lot of taxes and then you get like a gift in return, the more you give, the better the gift is.

But it's not going to be the exact representation of the amount that you're giving.

So everything's gonna look super expensive.

But I think the minimum you can give is Like 5000 yen for the number one ranking.

It says that everybody was really obsessed with hotel.

So scallops and you can get this giant thing of scallops, you pay $120 of your tax money, you get one kg of.

So these are Hokkaido scallops and your money would go to taxes in Hokkaido.

And also you can choose what you want to help out with in when you, when you give your taxes, it's like, what do you want?

The use of donation to be?

And it's like whatever the male wants, The mayor deems necessary.

You can help the marine environment, environmental conference conservation awareness, activities, revitalization of the city economy.

This keeps the stuff that you can choose from.

So you can specifically say I want my taxes to go towards this and then you get a kilogram of scallops.

Okay, the first thing that I want is 10 kg of potatoes.

I want 10 kg of potatoes from Miyazaki Prefecture.

So yeah, I'm gonna be, I'm gonna begin 10 kg of potatoes.

It looks like everyone saying these strawberries are amazing, that the highest, that the number one most popular item that people order, I'm gonna get strawberries, but this one is, yeah, from Fukuoka, so the tax would be going to walker next.

They found some Anzu shoe, which I love.

It's apricot, liqueur wine, apricot wine.

It's really good.

It's like a mess you, but like a slightly different flavor and I'm a big fan of it.

So you get two bottles of Anzu shoe.

I also want to two bags of dried persimmons.

I love dried persimmons, they're delicious.

I know some of you might be like, why aren't you going on a holiday?

Why aren't you doing something big?

I don't know, man, I just want, I just want potatoes and persimmons.

It is one cool thing.

I'm getting okay.

There is one cool thing, it is from, it is a particular frying pan, I've never even heard of it.

I started looking it up and the reviews are like, the frying pan is amazing.

It's the best, but I'll have to look more into it.

But the reviews are excellent beef.

This is, is it Miyazaki Miyazaki wagyu Miyazaki you.

So I'm gonna get 500 g of Miyazaki beef could look very nice.

So yeah, getting to two steaks and then finally I am getting two big bags of, I'm getting two kg of frozen blackberries.

It's actually really hard to find blackberries in japan and these ones are grown in japan but I super rarely find them.

Occasionally, supermarkets have them and usually they're pretty expensive.

I want to get too big bags, two kg of blackberries and be able to cook with them.

So those are my choices for my hometown tax.

But yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and order all this stuff.

I got my first package.

I just got the delivery of my blackberries.

Look how many, There are one kg each.

So just just a huge amount of frozen blackberries.

This is so exciting.

So I came pretty quickly.

I made like custard blackberry pastries.

So that's pretty cool guys, that is a few days later.

And I just got my second delivery, this is from a chicken Honda.

She, so they gave me like a little booklet of things to try and see and what the area is famous for, which is cool.

And I got Anzu shoe, so apricot liquor liqueur and I got two bottles of it.

Very pretty.

Crazy.

So yeah, I got two bottles of that.

This is so much fun.

Good morning guys, I'm a bit sick today, but my potatoes just arrived.

My 10 kg of potatoes.

Look at them all.

I have so many potatoes now and I'm just about to go to the hospital to get a covid test to see if I have covid.

But if I do have Covid, I will be locked down with 10 kg of potatoes.

They're good quality, you know, in japan potatoes are usually very small.

So these are quite a nice size.

They've been brushed but not washed and scrubbed.

This is very nice.

I went really crazy and I made these oven roasted butter, garlic potatoes, potato dishes today.

I still feel pretty bad.

I keep expecting to not feel bad, but then I feel bad.

It just keeps going and then once we do a layer of potatoes, we do butter in time.

I'm gonna put some, I'm gonna melt more butter and put some garlic.

This is sexy.

The amount of butter in, this is worrying.

This is taking so long.

Everybody, I'm just recovering from Covid right now.

I got Covid, but I got my another delivery of stuff.

Ha shikaki wow, it is dried persimmons.

So I got two big bags.

I think it's two kg of dried persimmons from Nagano.

Got them right here.

They look nasty as hell.

They, you know, they look really moldy, but that's just how they look.

It's actually really delicious outside, tastes like powdered sugar to me.

And I was like a dried apricot but more like juicy.

Really, really good.

Thanks Nagano Prefecture, another delivery, it's been a few weeks since the last delivery and this time I have some beautiful strawberries from Fukuoka.

He's a famous, well actually these are from the Fukuoka can, but the Hakata area.

So these are famous.

Um all strawberries and I have four big packs.

Okay.

It's one of the strawberries.

I think they got a little bit beaten up on the way here, but that's okay.

Very nice.

They're very sweet, but also have a slight bit of tartness, which I really like.

It looks like I'm gonna be cooking with strawberries for a while with the strawberries.

I've made this custard, strawberry tart and yeah, I'm so excited to eat.

It's so nice to have access to so many strawberries, wow guys, the next one arrived.

I'm so excited for this one.

Hello guys from pretty far in the future from the last few things it is now june almost at the end of june and I just got, I think my last thing from the order, oh wowee, it's Miyazaki, that is some big wagyu steaks.

My goodness gracious me, They are frozen.

But also I didn't realize, I thought it was just the two steaks that I actually get for burger parties as well.

So yeah, beautiful stuff.

Well that was my fun experience with sato knows I actually have a bunch of stuff.

I still have to eat but a little bit frozen so it's fine.

I gave a bunch of it to friends as well.

And yeah, everything was free even though you do pay for it at the start, that's taken off your taxes.

So it is free.
