Welcome back to Tokyo Creative Play.
I'm your host today Sarah and I'm here with Jordan's.
What up guys And today we're camping.
Maybe this is a camp.
No we're at a share house in Tokyo believe it or not.
We're about in Tokyo.
Today we're in Tama Plaza is a pretty nice shared house for it at the moment.
It's about a 20 minute straight shot to Shibuya, a five minute walk from the station isn't it?
Yeah.
Yeah pretty nice actually.
So we're actually here because we're collaborating with share design which runs a bunch of really cool share houses in the wider Tokyo area and today we're at garden Terrace, Tama Plaza which does have a lot of garden vibes.
Do you like the garden vibes?
Honestly garden camping vibes.
Very nice and nice like bright light, natural light.
Yeah so today we're going to get a bit of a tour from a friend of ours so we can find our friend.
Yeah because today is a T.
C.
Holmes episode and our first one this is my first one.
I've never been on tv home.
Shall we go explore?
Let's go explore around here.
All right hi I'm Sarah Jourdan.
My name is awesome.
Let's go take a look.
Is that all right.
Hi wow.
Oh what's it all?
Oh my God nice one piece and then I like who's in?
Rising.
So we're at the garden terrace which is in the name of the share house and it's this cool outdoor area.
Yeah and you can chill here.
We've got someone here.
Hi so yeah this is cool if you live in a share house you can kind of just run into people in the living room but let's go look a bit further down there.
Come on let's I'm looking around it seems like there's like a camping era going on.
It's pretty nice.
Yeah you can chill here.
I would totally do my work here, pull out my T.
C.
Laptop and I would totally take a nap here, pull out my T.
C.
Laptop and fall asleep on it automatically.
Oh there's yoga, do yoga.
I do stretching.
There's yoga with a bear.
Hello bear.
Classic bear yoga of course just do a bit of stretching.
Mm That's 123.
Nice.
Okay we're gonna go get them legs up 2345.
This is classic bear yoga as the bear gets stretched.
So do I mind over matter guys, come on bear 1234 flexible.
These are pretty cool.
I might take this.
Is there some sort of ball as well?
What is this?
I don't think, I don't think that's how you use that for Sarah.
You gotta do stuff like this.
She's just being silly now ridiculous.
You know he said holding a child.
I mean it looks like it's attached to you.
It is.
So this is a cool place.
I would totally wake up early make myself a coffee in the kitchen which we should check out before the kitchen and the living room.
Oh wow this is their living room guys.
It's so stylish.
It's all very new.
This place only just open.
Um, so it's all fresh that new house, feel like feel the beautiful wood.
So one of the cool things about living at share designers, they have a lot of unique kind of facilities.
So we have free beer here, which is all, How many places do you live in?
We can get free beer.
Not many.
And free wine over in the wine fridge.
That's where I come in.
That's where I come in.
Free wine.
So it's kind of like a promotion they have going on.
We don't know how long it's lasting, but maybe when you come and live here you'll get free wine and beer.
It's not bad at all.
Also a very nice drink coffee, very nice coffee grinder, a bermuda kettle, beautiful for doing some nice coffee.
One is also, you know, this is a very good brand of carol to have them making coffee just fantastic.
I want one of these very expensive.
The toaster and oven, it's the same oven that anna has and it makes musical sounds what it's a fun like way to enjoy your kitchen experience.
That is pretty cool.
Actually, toaster is so cool.
So I'm a big fan and if you want to have the perfect bread, you put it in the toaster and you put water in it.
It steams it and it just comes out.
So perfect.
Even cheap bread taste better.
So stressful for toast but it's not check it out the kitchen for the toast.
Let's go to the kitchen boys.
It's pretty big, pretty big kitchen.
Not bad at all.
Ah as discussed before.
Here are the fancier.
Oh you put water here or something to get your perfect toast.
So good.
I want to live here just for this toaster and everything.
He said it makes bread absolutely delicious.
Can verify for me as a baker, this oven that speaks to me.
It's a very nice mood oven.
Not bad at all.
I mean mine's bigger than this but you know it's about the power and how much you can do.
It's pretty nice actually.
Not bad at all.
Very new.
The great thing is if you're moving to Japan you don't have all these things in your house, like an oven or like rice cookers, it's all here.
So you don't have to worry too much and you don't have to spend extra money.
So that's one of the great things about share house.
And also, so for me personally thinking of shared house, thinking of kitchen space.
I thought to myself, how would I make anything in the kitchen full of people and then you realize there's like six ring burners and two others.
It is very good.
What is honestly and you can see like everything here is good quality.
That's one of the great things about this place is like all of this stuff is high quality.
You wouldn't expect in the share house but I'm pleasantly surprised honestly.
Yeah, all the shared house I've ever said has been really like tiny kitchens.
Not much space like two burners for like 50 people want to play those games.
Big space in this kitchen, very clean, nice like industrial kitchen filter is exactly what you want when you're setting it up in the kitchen at home.
And there's one place I definitely want to check out some big old TV and a giant soap in the living room in the couch.
You wanna check that out if you're tall.
I feel like you might hit your head.
Good thing I'm not too tall.
Oh yeah, this is nice.
The new the new bleach coming out bleach.
This is such a nice tv.
How are you?
All right?
Do you guys want to check out the music room?
100%.
Let's go music room.
Gonna put this on.
Not bad, not bad.
Very, you can hear that.
It's very simple.
It's very cool.
So at the moment they only have a drum in here as you can see but they're gonna get a piano soon.
Very good thing about music is that if you live here this is free to use you can just use your free anytime you want to come down.
Play some music in the room.
Very cool.
Also it's soundproof.
I don't know if he's musically talented.
What do you guys think?
Nice jordans come out.
It's actually really different when we open and close it.
Let's go to the next room, leave him in there.
Well we have a stockroom which means they're stocking up on all the alcohol.
No, I don't know.
Oh it's where the tenants keep their food supply.
This share house actually fits 54 different people in their own single room.
So you can see there's space for 54 people.
So 503409.
And I guess this is what it looks like.
If you've got your supplies, you put your chopsticks, your cutlery, your miso soup.
It's really cool seeing what each individual kind of person cooks within users.
That's fun.
Alright.
He's too lazy to get out of his room.
I relate to if I was on the fifth floor going up those stairs, I would not be cooking either.
But he did say earlier that he's going to start cooking and challenge himself.
So let's go find Jordan's.
I've been found I'm relaxing under the A.
C.
Very nice little reading spot.
I found very nice to chill up here.
You can look out at the traffic passing.
It's pretty relaxing actually.
All the face of lice, laptop plug spots which makes it very easy to do.
A little work.
A little studying on these high tables and with the coffee so close, how could I not study right here.
It was really fun exploring around this shared house as a man who's not really been to a shared house.
I have no idea how much this would be a month.
Yeah, so it costs on average 60,000 japanese yen per month.
It actually depends which room you're staying in.
So depending on the floor, the facilities and everything, it does vary.
But for 60,000 it includes the water, the gas, the wifi.
That's pretty good.
No way.
Yeah.
And also like the toilet paper, all those kamu things are included.
So it's not a bad deal.
Three minutes to the station.
So $60,600.
Actually, no, it's not anymore.
Not in this economy may well anyway, it's a good deal, it's pretty decent honestly.
But yeah, so I would love to experience living here.
It would be fun.
Pretty good.
Make some friends.
I had my eyes on the confirmation.
Especially if you're new to Tokyo.
I think a shared house, it's an easy way to make lots of friends.
Everyone's like hanging out here all the communal areas.
I think if you're kind of scared of going out to meet you people coming home, being able to meet people here is a really good way to do it.
And there's also some other foreigners, like non japanese living here.
So if you're a bit nervous there are non japanese and japanese living here.
So it's the best of both worlds, Still melting pot a melting pot of communities.
I like that a lot.
