- Hi, (laughing) welcome to Elmo's World.
Oh, guess what Elmo is wondering about today.
(twinkling music) Wait for it.
Wait (laughing) for it.
(awe-inspiring music) Wow! (laughing), crafts.
Oh, that means really cool things you can make
with stuff around the house.
(twinkling music) (Elmo laughing)
A bird feeder. (bird cheeps)
Yeah.
Boy, Elmo loves crafts,
and wants to find out more about them.
Hey, let's ask Elmo's friend Smartie.
Let's call her together.
- [Elmo And Children] Oh, Smartie!
(phone ringing) (Elmo laughing)
- Hello there.
- Um, Smartie, is that you?
- (giggles) It's me all right.
I'm wearing a mast that I made out of a paper plate.
(Elmo laughs) Oh, why that's perfect, Smartie,
because today Elmo wants to learn all about crafts.
- Well, what do we do to learn something new?
- [Elmo And Smartie And Children] We look it up.
(triumphant music)
- Looking up info on crafts. Here we go.
(upbeat music)
You could turn rocks from the yard into animals like owls.
You can make dolls out of pipe cleaners.
Or you can fold up paper and make things like a flower.
(bubbly music)
- Wow, (laughs) that's so cool.
- Wait till I show you what my older brother Flip
made out of popsicle sticks.
(airplane rustling)
- Wow, (laughs) an airplane.
- Happy crafting, Elmo.
See ya. (quirky upbeat music)
- Oh, thank you, Smartie. Bye-bye.
Hey, (laughs) that gives Elmo an idea.

Oh, must try and figure out which things from the kitchen
we can use to make crafts.
Are you ready? Let's play.
(upbeat music) - [Child] Cardboard tubes.
- [Elmo] Think we can use that?
- [Child] Sure.
- [Child] Let's use that ball of string.
Yeah, string will be great.
- [Elmo] What about a kitty-cat?
- [Child] (laughs) No way.
- [Child] Use that empty plastic jar, too.
- [Elmo] Okay, so we have cardboard tubes, string,
and an empty plastic jar.
Let's find out what crafts we can make
by putting those together.
(horse zaps)
Oh, ho, ho, a horse. Giddy-up horsy.
(horse whinnies) Wow!
Right, making crafts is craftastic. (laughs)
And that makes Elmo wonder even more, oh,
what kind of crafts does Mr. Noodle like to make.
Oh, let's ask him.
Hey, Mr. Noodle.

- [Child] A train. He's making a choo-choo train.
- [Elmo] What is Mr. Noodle going to use to make the train?
(quirky music) Oh.
Shoe boxes covered in construction paper,
some string, a paper towel tube, and a crayon.
- [Child] Well, you're going to draw the wheels first.
Not on us, Mr. Noodle, on the train boxes.
- [Elmo] Silly.
Oh, what's he doing.
Oh, Mr. Noodle is drawing the wheels on the bus. Cool.
Very nice. (triumphant music)
What's Mr. Noodle going to do next?
(quirky music)
- [Child] He's making the engine.
- [Child] He's going to put the boxes together with string.
Uh-oh, he's all tangled.
- [Child] Uh-oh. (Mr. Noodle thuds)
- [Elmo] Try again, Mr. Noodle.
