Hugh Jackman's almost 30 year love story comes to an end.

When I ask my wife to marry me, you're nervous.

You know, it's the right thing, but you have to take that leap of faith.

The actor and Deborra-Lee Furness, revealing their decision to divorce on Friday,

telling People Magazine, "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.

Our journey now is and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."

The thing I always try to maintain with it, which is what my dad did with me was,

it doesn't matter what you do, who you are; love what you do and always be respectful of people around you

While they noted it's the sole statement either of them will make, ET has reached out for comment.

That's Deborra-Lee on Tuesday in New York City without her wedding ring.

And at this year's Met Gala, neither sported rings.

Same goes for the last time they were spotted together in July at Wimbledon.

Well, if you're anything like me, you wake up asking, "How do we get here?"

Back in their statement, the two say they're undertaking this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.

Adding that "Family has been and always will be our highest priority."

They share two kids, a 23-year-old son Oscar and (an) 18-year-old daughter Ava.

For me, life gets better and better.

You know, I was a very, very happy single man when I met my wife and the moment I met her, it was like this is 10 times better than this and it's just continued to be like that.

And for the couple calling it quits wasn't a decision to be taken lightly.

As the romance predates Hugh's A-list stardom and his breakthrough Marvel role.

Yet before Wolverine and The Greatest Showman, the two met in 1995 starring on a TV series in their native Australia, tying the knot a year later.

And there she was, and my heart kind of skipped a beat because she was stunning and I was a little intimidated because she was a big star.

She was just cool.

And from that moment, we were our best buds.

Fast forward to 2023, Hugh shared this sweet tribute for their 27th anniversary.
