Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Music is one of my most favorite things in the world. It's got the power to move us, to inspire us, and to make us dance a little. Well, I'm at a school in Sunderland where music has absolutely transformed things here. Let's take a look. Introducing the real life School of Rock, a rock band consisting of kids put together by this rock star teacher, Mr Linstead And I'm here to find out all about them. I've just seen your rehearsals and it looks pretty amazing. I'm not going to lie to you. How did you get involved in this? So I was in choir. And Mr. Linstead used to love to hear me sing. And then one day he asked us to be in the rock band. I've just joined this year But when I saw the year 6's and the old year 6's I was really jealous, to be honest. I want to be on there. Just by being in their rehearsals. You can tell that they absolutely love being involved. But how much of a difference is the rock band making to their school lives? I caught up with their teacher who put this all together. Mr Linstead. What made you want to start a rock band? When I was at primary school, I really wanted to be in a band from a very early age. So now I'm a teacher it's something I wanted to organize within school and because of the rock band, loads of kids at this school now play musical instruments ranging from violins to drums to the keyboard. But why is music so important to them? If I'm sad or stressed, I can just go in my room and put in the headphones and then I feel like I'm in another world, Whenever I'm like an angry and upset. Like I'll go my room and I would listen to music and that would cheer me up a lot because it would just like it would just be really calm and calm me down. Well, in the words of the rock legends themselves, rock on guys.
