Some ghost apples and Sytsma spotted the formation while pruning apple trees on Wednesday.

Satsuma said the freezing rain coated rotten apples creating a solid icy shell around them.

When he pruned the trees, many of the frozen apples fell off ice and all, however, a few of them were left looking like what you see here.

Those are kind of beautiful.
