Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Sometime in the past, Oakheart, a dead guy, brings two blue kittens to a cat named Graypool and refuses to explain where he got them. Meanwhile, in the present, Tigerclaw and Fireheart make passive-aggressive comments to each other all the way to the gathering. Fireheart overhears that at one point, Bluestar lost some kits. Wow, there were some kits in the prologue, weren't there? Hmm... Afterwards, Fireheart and Graystripe take off to get receipts of Tigerclaw's problematic behavior from Ravenclaw. Ravenpaw reveals that Oakheart died from convenient falling rocks and not Tigerclaw. This is how they can finally prove that Tigerclaw is a lying terrible person, so they plan to ask RiverClan about Oakheart's corpse. Later that day, Fireheart and Sandstorm cuddle, causing Spottedleaf to descend into his dreams in some sort of bizarre ghost jealousy. "Don't do drugs, Fireheart," says Spottedleaf in the middle of an ocean. The next day, they sneak into RiverClan territory to interrogate Silverstream. Silverstream has no clue, so she goes and gets Mistyfoot, who apparently is in on this. Then Mistyfoot confirms that sneaky pebbles did kill Oakheart. By about page 57 of this book, the fact that Mistyfoot and Stonefur are Bluestar's kits is incredibly obvious. Brightkit and Thornkit are made apprentices about three moons after Cinderpaw and Brackenpaw. Fireheart, having not gotten enough of RiverClan, goes to Graypool to ask her about some suspicious business she said about Stonefur. She tells him that Stonefur and Mistyfoot are from ThunderClan! Wow! Obviously, it's time to tell Bluestar the news, but Bluestar immediately gets defensive the second he mentions Stoneyfoot and Mistfur. So instead, he goes with Cinderpaw to find some plants. He takes a quick break to be Cloudkit's dad. He tells Cloudkit that he's genetically inferior to everyone he knows, and he expects it to work out. In the end, they decide to bring Cloudkit with them, and he immediately finds a way to poison himself. That night, Fireheart literally has a prophetic dream about Bluestar's kits and still doesn't get the hint. Also, Spottedleaf is there. Probably just to make eye contact with Fireheart. Fireheart wakes up and goes back to training Graystripe's apprentice for him. Suddenly, Cloudkit is being attacked by a badger! Then...Fireheart and Sandstorm tag-team it. Cloudkit gets the terrible punishment of being an apprentice. Fireheart helps him out, but sees Tigerclaw being aggressively suspicious. Tigerclaw is going to Twolegplace. Weird... Not too long after, Fireheart and his clique (and Runningwind) find out that the river is flooded. The danger this poses for RiverClan causes Bluestar quite a bit of worry. Hmm... So then Graystripe and Fireheart go back to the RiverClan border, because, you know why and rescue some mystery kits. They bring the kits back to the RiverClan camp, passing up the opportunity to get some free kittens. Warriors these days... ...and nobody gives a crap that they saved the lives of RiverClan's young and interrogate them for six hours. Soon after, Graystripe and Fireheart decide to start smuggling food to RiverClan over the border. Two minutes later, Silverstream is pregnant! Great... Cloudkit finds out where they've been going and tells everyone in camp. Especially Tigerclaw. So Fireheart and Graystripe are punished by having to deal with Longtail for longer than a few minutes. Everyone goes to the gathering in the most dangerous way possible, and Tigerclaw kills Fireheart by making him walk the tightrope. But it's alright. Longtail saves him. Everyone decides that the gathering might have been a bad idea anyways. Fireheart goes to the medicine den to stop being so cold and wet. Then Yellowfang asks Cinderpaw to be her apprentice. "Wait. I wasn't already?" Cinderpaw asks. "I thought that was why you weren't paying me." So, three days after not going to the gathering, it's time to go to the gathering again. At the gathering, Nightstar reveals to everyone that ThunderClan has been keeping Brokenstar in their basement. The cats then shuffle to see who's on whose team for the next minigame and ThunderClan goes home with RiverClan. Bluestar is very eager to hear about Mistyfoot's kits. HMMM... Fireheart thinks they look kind of similar. Gee, I wonder why, Fireheart. What a mystery! Firepaw is training Graystripe's apprentice for him when the evil guys and the skinny guys suddenly invade their territory. Everybody fights. Thunderclan wins. Then everybody scolds Bluestar for keeping the most evil cat ever alive in her camp. "Hey," says Tigerclaw. "He isn't so bad." "Compared to me..." They make Brackenpaw a warrior to give Fireheart some free time. So Graystripe takes off again a few days later, as usual, and Fireheart follows him because giving Graystripe time alone with this girlfriend is unheard of. But Silverstream is giving birth, and doing a terrible job of it, so they get Cinderpaw in on this. Tigerclaw shows up, too, just in time to see the miracle of birth. He finds it disgusting. Silverstream then explodes. They give the kits to Goldenflower just to upset Tigerstar a little bit more. Bluestar is unsurprised by this turn of events. "Hey, Bluestar, just like you!" says Fireheart. "How the heck do you know that?" responds Bluestar. As it turns out, both Bluefur and Oakheart were cast as the leads in the Warrior Cats high school adaptation of Grease. They fell in love as co-stars, and Bluestar had kittens just days before opening night. But Bluestar knew that if she was taking care of kittens, they would replace her with her understudy, Thistleclaw. Now, Thistleclaw, while a fine actor, was terrible at singing, and could never portray Sandy properly. So she gave her kittens to RiverClan to make sure the show was a success. Fireheart understands fully. He goes to see Graystripe, who insists they bury his two new kittens alive. "Uh, no," says Fireheart. "Oh, okay!" responds Graystripe. Cloudpaw becomes Fireheart's new Cinderpaw, who he immediately brings to visit Princess in Twolegplace. They interrogate Princess about possibly seeing Tigerclaw and take off. But when they get back, RiverClan is there! Leopard the cat and Bluestar's abandoned children want Silverstream's kits back. "Heck no," says Fireheart. "Heck maybe," says Bluestar, having them leave. Cinderpaw appears. She's going to go see if the magic rock will accept her as ThunderClan's new witch in training. Fireheart and Cloudpaw come too. "Wait, hold on," says Fireheart. "If you do this, you can't have my babies anymore." "I can have your babies?" Cinderpaw squeals. "Never mind, then, forget this crap!" "Too late," says Yellowfang, dragging her the rest of the way to the Highstones. A day later, Cloudpaw is on a solo hunting mission and witnesses Tigerclaw buying drugs. He runs to get Fireheart and they notice Tigerclaw is with all the evil cats that Brokenstar had. Tigerclaw has the rogues attack and goes for Bluestar himself. "I'm evil, and I'm going to kill you," he tells her. "What do you mean by this?" she asks. Before he can rephrase his sentence, Fireheart fights him off. Then the kit collecting party shows up and scares away the rest of them. Bluestar tells everyone that Tigerclaw tried to kill her. "Haha, no. Tigerclaw would never do that!" says Darkstripe. Fireheart proceeds to let all the cats out of the bag. "I would have made ThunderClan great again," shouts Tigerclaw. Tigerclaw then asks all of his friends to leave with him, but unfortunately they were fake friends. Afterwards, Fireheart goes in to see Yellowfang and watches as she poisons her son. Kids book. Then Fireheart goes to sleep. Spottedleaf is there. Because Spottedleaf. "Hey," says Spottedleaf. Fireheart wakes up. What could it mean? Bluestar then makes him deputy, because YOLO, and also because she can't begin to trust literally anyone else. Leopardfur and the pussycats come back for the kits a fourteenth time and Graystripe lets them have them. He also lets them have Graystripe. Fireheart is sad.
