Oh
That looked real did they really just crash a car first of all shout out to the stunt people that are just like dodging this thing
Either that was one of the best VFX shots I've ever seen or that was real
It looks like they're shooting on one of the studio lots in LA
So this is like a completely fake city just so you know, hi, my name is Jordan or I'm a professional music video editor for artists like these guys
That looks so good
Okay, and okay we
But we literally have a word art 3d track title a girl named nayoung
Let's go bro. It's like in word art and we're flying through it
I think I don't know if this is a crane shot or a drone, but it's like a
Crazy wide-angle lens the way that they 3d track this text in After Effects looks gorgeous, I
Would love to watch a tutorial on how to do that because that's complicated
Dude
Watch your purity brother. Watch his eyes bro in the in the back
But look at where his eyes go his eyes go down he does the little I'm just playing
Okay, I think there's a missed opportunity here
The lyric is slo-mo and the shot looks like it's pretty much a normal speed
So what they should have done here is taken the song
Sped it up a bunch and then you actually perform it like super duper fast
But then you slow it down in post so you're actually performing in slo-mo
But your lips match up to the music if this whole shot this whole intro shot was slo-mo
Missed opportunity, but we do have slo-mo shots in here, you know kind of getting the same thing
This boy on his I assume they just got married and look at how this guy's looking at her
Get you a guy that looks at you the same way. This dude looks at nayoung bro
Already
Whoa
That was fire, okay, let's break down the transition y'all she checks out this
Well, I guess she just looks into this window and this really threw me off
There's actually like a filter you can put on your lens like a polarizer
So when you spin it it literally reduces the glare
So kind of the opposite effect like this like the glare the glare was increased
But then I realized oh wait neon's the star here
So what happened is as she moved closer to the window
They actually turned up the glare in post in color grading so we could see her face better
So though, you know, it was just a little clearer
I don't know
It didn't work that well for me because I was looking at the sky reflection and because it increased in exposure so much it kind
Of threw me off, but I see why they did it
All right now to break down the transition
Okay, so we established the window we show her through this car window, but then we realize oh wait
They actually just rotoscoped out the windows and put the previous shot in there
So this is just a normal shot of her on the street. Just kind of going like this
And they actually rotoscoped that into this shot because you can see it fade out and this is what the actual shot looks like this is the actual thing and then as she's starting to exit the door the screen turns black and then that is a nice way
To just cut into the next shot right here and we use a camera flash
It looks like as motivation or maybe a color effect
Not really sure but it looks sick
So we use superimposed cut to black now in the next scene with the same camera movement
I
Love the rounded corners, it's giving singing in the rain
Like an old film
That was nice nice directing nice mash cut have her plan to lay down on the tables cuts an overhead in that retro style
Bruh is that neon bro? I got to be there right now. I'm gonna slide right in
And he just slides in
There he is in the back
It's like let me join
This is a good song
Very simple cutting
That was sick
We got but I wonder who this is. I don't know. She's getting her own solo shot
So she has to be important at some level
She's joining in from the sidewalk. But the reason that works is because neon actually looked over to the side right there
She's looking across the way and the editor used that as motivation to cut to the side of the street
Otherwise, if you're cutting to the side of the street
Randomly doesn't make any sense. It's gonna feel super off so if you take where the character is looking in the previous shot and you cut to wherever they're looking and all of a
Sudden makes sense because of film language. We love that now
Some directors are crazy anal about this. So when we cut back to neon, she should still be looking at the sidewalk
But in this example, she's not which makes it feel a little bit worse, but it still works
See, she's she's kind of just looking in the other direction
So sometime in that moment where she was looking over here
She decided to stop looking at her and look in the opposite direction
So when we cut back to her, she's looking in the opposite direction and we don't see that
That's getting really film nerdy there Jordan. All right, let's keep listening to the chorus
It's good, it's good though
Have you ever had the perfect soundtrack and you're like cooking you're like, oh, yeah, bro. This this is fire
And then you remember oh wait, it's a popular song
I'm gonna get sued if I use it anybody anybody else or is it just me?
Yeah, well guess what the literal coolest tool I've ever seen on a music licensing site just came out. It's from music bed
It's AI powered and it will help you find a song with pretty much the exact same vibe that you can use
Let me show you how it works go to music bed site and you have this little search by song button boom
And now we can type in an artist or a song name. I'm gonna type in new jeans
They have a very specific sound and let's see what we got
This
Is so new jeans, bro, all right, what else we got
This is literally a new jeans intro the amount of time I spend hours just browsing through different moods and genres trying to find
The perfect track and all I have to do is just type in a reference artist or track and boom
The first one is exactly what I'm looking for
They only let 1% of the track submitted onto their site. So you're getting the cream of the crop
So switch to music bed today and get the best music on the internet in the fastest way
Thanks to AI powered search. So be sure to hit the link in the description and thank you music bed AI. You're the best
Big little universe
I'm pretty sure this might be big little universe in Korean and they blur it out and track it kind of like the
Original text they track it in 3d space and so it creates this what's called a parallax effect
Which means that things that are closer to you move faster than things behind you. So this hands gonna move faster than this hand
It's fun. We love parallax
By the way
I'm teaching a free live master class on how to make six figures being a video creator if you're interested the signup link is below
I'll see you there
And then we have the English version right here floating in the middle
Oh
All right, so they decided to create a nice tracking
Camera movement and then match cut a few shots together in the second verse and change aspect ratios. So we get like cool
Dinner vibe neon in this one
And then we use the bookshelf and maybe the wall as motivation to create that slide transition and then we get nerdy library
And then we even have an aspect ratio change which is pretty nice so we get like rich garden
Oh
Okay, so this is a whoa this frame is crazy look at this dude's head but his body is blurry
Whoa
Okay, this is called a hyperlapse, which means you turn the frame rate and the shutter speed crazy low
So anything that's moving in the scene is gonna be super blurry, but she's not moving
So she's gonna stay in focus and it's just gonna be kind of choppy because the frame rate is low
But see any movement of her is blurry
Oh
Reveal from behind the table, that was nice
World library neon can get it shoot
Alright, so it looks like we're having at least as far as the story goes
We've had a few different eras at the beginning
We have a girl named neon and in the middle we have big little universe and we're just getting a bunch of versions of neon in different environments
This course is dirty. Oh nice mash cut and the aspect ratio changes are so fun
That shot was that shot was good
That shot was interesting it kind of looked like it was shot on an iPhone a really high f-stop and the f-stop controls how blurry
The background is on your lens
So right here like the background is all in focus and it kind of just the the camera quality just doesn't look that good
Honestly, it kind of feels like an iPhone to me with some lens flares on it
The dance break in the library
Wait a second here, wait a second here
That's it. Okay. So the text said crossing the cosmos again
We have this crazy 3d text word art type vibes and now it's behind her in the scene. We get in a really nice shadow like
Shout out to whoever did the title design in this video. It is so fire, but I'm noticing a pattern here
So we had a bunch of different versions of neon and then we have these crazy match cuts. Oh
Oh
Bro, bro, this is freaking everything everywhere all at once
It looks exactly like this scene from everywhere all at once where the main characters just flying through a bunch of different versions of herself and all kinds of multiverses and it just match cuts her face and it looks crazy and there's even like
Random frames like this one and this one. Yeah, they're kind of weird. This one's pretty normal
It's just neon, you know, nothing too nuts
But bro
It looks so pretty and they matched all the different aspect ratios from different eras
If you ever get the chance to just match cut faces together, please do it. It looks fire
Oh
Bro, I love I love a roof dance break. Let's let's go. Hold up. Is she wearing Louis Vuitton knee pads?
Oh
She's like bro, my knees are gonna hurt but I gotta I gotta protect them in style
So the editing so far, you know, we have some great directorial ideas, but everything's pretty basic
I mean, I'm seeing a few zooms in these dances
Oh
They tracked to her head, did you see that like any little head movement that she made the camera kind of moved with it what?
That was a crazy shot for so many reasons that was nuts
Wow
But I like the facial tracking with her head. That's that's fine
The camera is really matching
There it is, bro, she needed the Louis Vuitton knee pads for that moment and
She capitalized let's go. We got a little speed ramp in there
So right when you she lands the editor actually turned it into slow motion and then sped ramped it back up. That was cool
Check it out
The hair flip in slow-mo
The neon sign bro, we love a VFX sign like come on
Neon's got presents bro. She has presents
Not not like Chris not like gifts. Like she is captivating in so many ways. She's such a performer
All right, we got to talk about this so this is a very syncopated chorus it's
Jumping
And let's see how the editor decides to cut to so we got but
It kind of almost creates three different sections
But that that that that that that that and so the editor decides to use that to cut
So, here we go
Disgusting
Wait a second, okay, so this is deeper to nay or nah
It's ABCD bro, it's lit bruh all the titles
Spell ABCD a girl named Neon big little universe be crossing the cosmos see and then D
Deeper to nah ABCD. Let's freaking go. Oh my goodness Wow
Well, that was an absolute bop, I hope you enjoyed I hope you learned something god bless you guys peace
