  • This is a weekend in my life in New York City.

  • So it is 5 p.m. on a Friday afternoon here in New York City, which officially makes it the weekend.

  • And I stopped working at 5 p.m. during the summer because this is when it is roasting hour here in the apartment.

  • It gets so bright and sunny and hot that you honestly need sunglasses and like SPF 50 to bear with this.

  • I have lived in an apartment before that had no windows, so definitely not going to complain about having a lot of sunlight.

  • So with living in a big city like New York, you tend to have a bunch of different friend groups.

  • And tonight, we are about to go to a rooftop barbecue with some of my super talented creator friends.

  • Thank you.

  • So let me introduce you to my friends.

  • I'm Andrew James.

  • Hi, I'm Alona.

  • What's good?

  • Andy too.

  • Hi, I'm Christine.

  • Hi, I'm Sarah.

  • What the heck?

  • My name is Jordan.

  • Yo, what up guys?

  • It's Remy.

  • Hi, I'm Jalyn.

  • Hi, I'm Jeremy.

  • Hi, I'm Miwa.

  • What's up guys?

  • I'm Jerome.

  • So we also have DJ Karl Shakur.

  • Yes, yes, yes.

  • Listen, I just finished the burgers from Jerome.

  • There's a hot dog waiting on the grill, but first, I'm going to chef up some heat, you know what I mean?

  • What's your DJ name?

  • No, my name is Karl.

  • I can't.

  • Just Karl.

  • I'm not one of those guys.

  • I'm not one of those guys.

  • Just Karl.

  • Just call me Karl.

  • Not even DJ Karl, just Karl.

  • All right, so this is my homie Remy.

  • Remy is one of the best FPV drone pilots, I would say, in the world.

  • I need to get me on a FPV drone.

  • Yeah, you should try it, man.

  • Let me know.

  • I got you.

  • I'm going to take you up on that.

  • Did you see what happened?

  • Yeah.

  • There was just a death here at the barbecue.

  • I think it like went into the grill and it just ejected itself.

  • Dragonfly flew into the grill.

  • All the girls went screaming and I think he might not make it.

  • Oh, wow.

  • That thing is massive.

  • It's like prepping to take off, you know?

  • I think it got injured and now it's like recovering.

  • Should we try and help it?

  • You got this, buddy.

  • Fly away.

  • So, on the weekends, I like to focus on fitness and regroup mentally.

  • Also, so I live right in the heart of Manhattan and it is so difficult to film with the noise pollution here.

  • Either there's jackhammers or sirens or local crazy people.

  • So, right now, I am about to do a quick 45-minute appointment with my therapist.

  • So this video is sponsored by BetterHelp and I truthfully have been a paying customer of theirs for years and the reasons why I've been a customer has definitely changed through the different adversities life has thrown at me.

  • In the beginning, I know I've told you guys it was because of relationship issues, but then even recently, right now, in this time in my life, I just want to be fully focused.

  • I want no distractions and to be able to have as much mental clarity as possible.

  • And there is just so much that I'm excited about in life.

  • But I have learned that the same chemical in your brain that controls excitement also controls stress and fear.

  • And we all have so many stressful things going on in our lives on a daily basis, so to be able to dedicate just 45 minutes a week or even every other week in doing online therapy with BetterHelp is something I'd recommend everyone to at least try out.

  • So BetterHelp also makes it super easy to find a licensed professional therapist that is suitable for your needs and also at an affordable price.

  • So if you want to try out BetterHelp for yourself, all you have to do is go to betterhelp.com slash betconti.

  • If you go there or just click the link in the description down below, you will also get 10% off your first month with BetterHelp.

  • It also really helps this channel out a lot.

  • So you guys know when you're out traveling somewhere and you meet someone really cool that you click with and you tell them if they're ever in your city that they can of course stay at your place.

  • Well six years ago, I was on a boat randomly in the Philippines and I met this guy right here, Jordan Tewali.

  • Big mistake.

  • This is Jordan's I think eighth time now that you've stayed on my couch?

  • Oh I think there's a permanent indent in this couch that is the length of me.

  • So my friend Tyler has a run club here in the city called Endorphins where every single

  • Saturday morning at 8am they meet in Washington Square Park and go on a 10 mile run.

  • And this morning, I brought Jordan Tewali with me, who was talking a huge game last night at the barbeque, saying that he could easily run 10 miles, which he's never done before.

  • It will be easy in regards to like, I will complete it with no problem.

  • Let's see what this crazy Australian's got in the tank.

  • No regrets.

  • Yet.

  • Yet.

  • No regrets.

  • Are you still confident?

  • I'm confident.

  • Come back to me at like mile 3.

  • Also I feel like a bad friend to Tyler for never going to his run club.

  • This will be my first time, but supposedly there's like a hundred people that show up.

  • All right, I'm going to guess this is it.

  • We're almost halfway through.

  • Jordan, how you feeling?

  • Okay.

  • Right up in here in the groin, it's starting to get a little tight, but I'm not too worried.

  • I'm not too bad.

  • How many miles are we in?

  • We're about five.

  • Halfway through.

  • We're halfway?

  • Yeah.

  • I am impressed with how well you're doing.

  • It's been easy?

  • It's not easy, but, well actually, until that last mile, it's been relatively easy.

  • But I think, I think the hardship's coming.

  • Almost there.

  • One more bridge.

  • It's the bridge I threw up on during the New York City Marathon.

  • Hopefully I better luck this time.

  • You did your first ever 10 miles.

  • So just about every single weekend, my buddy Sherman hosts these meetups because he has an outdoor patio with a cold plunge and a couple saunas over here.

  • So this is the perfect post-recovery after 10 miles.

  • Nice and cold.

  • Oh, we got Kristen on the other cold plunge.

  • Let's go.

  • How long did you get the help that is?

  • There you go, Jordan.

  • If I pass out, you're going to drag my buddy out of here.

  • So Shervin, what was the reasoning behind wanting to host these meetups with everyone and like share your space with like 20 people?

  • Why?

  • Because I'm a masochist and I love seeing other people in pain.

  • That's a valid answer.

  • Shervin, working out with him, definitely feel the pain.

  • Alright, back in the cold plunge with my friend Lindsey.

  • Currently at...

  • You're almost at 13 minutes.

  • Let's go.

  • We're going to make it to at least 15, maybe 20.

  • You can do it.

  • We can't even get down.

  • No, no, we're good.

  • I was just for the camera's safety.

  • 15 minutes.

  • Alright, we're going to 20.

  • You're staying in.

  • You're getting out.

  • So this weekend is just all about the health grind.

  • We had our 10 miles and then we went and did some cold plunges and saunas and now we are about to eat at this new health food restaurant called Pura Vida.

  • It's from Miami and this man right here is from Florida and has just been hyping up this spot.

  • I am the biggest advocate for Pura Vida Cafe.

  • Their wraps, poke bowls, acai bowls, smoothies, juices, everything is so good.

  • I honestly was stoked when I heard that they were opening one here.

  • It's like a piece of home.

  • It's back up here.

  • Let's give this a try.

  • Nutella banana bread.

  • So far, so good.

  • Alright, and now for my main dish.

  • We went with the spicy tuna bowl.

  • Presentation, looking good.

  • So for Brett's restaurant review of Pura Vida, I would say taste was great.

  • Tasted healthy as well.

  • They even did the own homemade sauce for the tuna bowl, but it was 25 bucks, which was definitely on the more pricey side, so I'd have to give it 8.7.

  • So typically Saturdays, I like to dedicate to the 3 F's.

  • Fitness, family, and friends.

  • And unfortunately, my family was out of the city this weekend, but luckily I have a ton of friends here.

  • And I'd say that's the reason 7,342 of why I love living in New York City is because there's so many groups and communities for everyone.

  • Whether you're into content creating, there's groups for creators, there's people that are into running, there's people that are into saunas and cold plunges, this city really just has so many incredible people with communities for everything.

  • Speaking of friends, now I'm heading to Brooklyn to go see a friend DJ.

  • Also, it feels so much nicer to be on an e-bike going over the bridge instead of running.

  • Let it go.

  • Let it go.

  • Take it high.

  • Let it go.

  • Take it high.

  • Let it go.

  • Yeah.

  • I'll take you over to the other side.

  • This gon' be the time and the hotline.

  • Waiting for the stars to all align.

  • Supernova, baby, what a ride.

  • All aboard, I'm sure to be the guy.

  • Couple seats set aside.

  • I'll tell you where we pulling up tonight.

  • I'll park it in the sky, hold tight.

  • So now I am on my way to the gym to get a little exercise in and also get some planning done in the co-working area because in about three weeks, I am leaving to hike the highest freestanding mountain in the world.

  • I literally just signed up for this a couple days ago, so I need to get some training in.

  • Let's go.

  • Now I just have to be able to do this for about nine days straight with very little oxygen and I should be all set.

  • Let's go.

  • So in T-minus three weeks, I'm going to be hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the tallest freestanding mountain in the world as well as the highest mountain in all of

  • Africa.

  • And I have done some pretty intense hiking before, but nothing to this level.

  • It's going to take about seven days to get up to summit and then another couple days to get back down.

  • And I have been wanting to get into more intense mountain climbing.

  • So when this opportunity came up just a couple days ago, I instantly said yes.

  • So guys, I think it's officially time that I become a real mountain climber.

  • Time to get some gear.

  • I had no idea hiking was going to be this expensive of a hobby.

  • Sheesh.

  • So now, besides hiking Kilimanjaro, I have just been laser focused on making these videos as well as launching my new tea business in just a couple of months.

  • And I am still figuring things out, so don't want to give it all away yet.

  • But let's just say I am going to be posting about that series very, very consistently.

  • If you do want more of this behind the scenes stuff about the tea business and to know the name first, then you can sign up for the newsletter down below.

  • But man, I am just so excited about what's to come.

  • But first, thought I'd break in these boots.

  • What's up?

  • What's up?

  • What's up?

This is a weekend in my life in New York City.
