Today is my last video, but just for this year, for 2023, because the year is about to end.

It's almost 2024, and I thought to myself, what would be a great video for you guys?

So in today's video, I will teach you all New Year's vocabulary at Party City, because they have a ton of decorations and supplies inside the store.

I will also teach you new words and phrases that people use to celebrate the New Year and how people celebrate the New Year here in the United States.

So come along with me and let's go inside the store.

Before teaching you all New Year's vocabulary, you might be wondering, what is Party City?

Party City sells a bunch of party supplies for your celebrations.

For example, they sell party supplies for birthdays, graduations, and many more.

They sell balloons, pinatas, and everything you need to celebrate a special occasion.

So if you want me to make a video about Party City vocabulary and show you the different types of decorations and supplies you need for a party, let me know down below.

But for now, I'm going to find the aisle that has New Year's supplies and teach you all New Year's vocabulary.

The day before the New Year is commonly referred to as New Year's Eve.

This is the day before the New Year.

So when you say something like Eve, for example, Christmas Eve, that means it is the day before Christmas.

So New Year's Eve is December 31st and the New Year is January 1st.

New Year's Eve is celebrated by dancing, drinking, and lots of eating with your friends and family.

So let's go ahead and check out the different supplies they have in this aisle, New Year's Eve aisle.

If you're having a party, that means you're the host.

You're hosting the party.

So if you're hosting a big party, you might need a lot of New Year's Eve decorations.

And behind me, one thing that would really catch my eye is having a banner.

This is a New Year's Eve banner and it has the words, Happy New Year.

And this banner will hang on your ceiling or you can tape it up on the wall.

And this is a great piece of decoration because it'll hang from string.

This banner is $10 and there are four pieces.

Right next to this banner, there is just one banner.

And instead of saying Happy New Year, this one just says the year 2024.

And this one costs $12.

If you want to hang up a banner, but you don't want to hang it up in front of a plain white wall, you can buy a backdrop.

This is a beautiful gold backdrop that'll be behind a banner.

And this is nice because you can take pictures in front of the backdrop and the banner.

And this backdrop costs $30.

Another way to decorate your home for New Year's Eve, besides having a banner or a backdrop, is having balloons.

Look at the variety of balloons they have behind me.

They have balloons of all different sizes and lengths.

This one is blue.

This one is pretty cool.

But a lot of their balloons are gold, black, and silver.

So these are the three colors for the New Year.

There are different types of balloons behind me.

This one is a champagne glass and it says, Cheers.

This one is beer and it costs $16.

And this one is in the shape of multiple stars.

And the most famous drink of the New Year is champagne.

So this is why this balloon is in the shape of a champagne bottle.

These balloons over here cost $16.

But some balloons, like this pink one behind me, cost even more.

They are even more New Year's Eve.

New Year's Eve.

Besides household party decorations, you can buy things to wear.

So you can buy things like hats, a party hat, which is a fun and festive way to put something on your head.

This is a cone hat and it's dipped in glitter and you will just wear it on top of your head.

Each cone hat costs $1.50.

So this is a great and cheap way to buy things for your party guests.

Here there's another type of cone hat.

This one says Happy New Year and it's black and gold.

So there are different colors of cone hats.

And then they have a crown.

This is a crown and it says 2024.

And then this is a royal crown and it costs $5.

I feel like I'm a queen.

This is a top hat and it says Happy New Year.

This top hat lights up and I have to press this button for it to light up.

And it costs $9.75.

And then for a woman they have tiaras.

This is a tiara and it costs $2.80.

And over here they have different kinds of headbands.

This is a headband and it says 2024.

This is so cute to wear for a New Year's Eve party.

And they also have masks.

This is a mask that can cover your face.

And I feel very mysterious in this and I feel like this is a very fun way to This mask costs $7.

And they also have necklaces.

These are necklaces and this one that I'm wearing right now lights up and it says 2024.

Wow, look at this.

And they also have glasses that will match with this necklace.

Let me turn it on because this one also lights up.

How do I look?

Another way people celebrate the New Year is they do a countdown and this just means counting backward from 10 to 1.

So you say 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

And then after that people say Happy New Year.

And the best way to celebrate this is to twist this open.

This is a giant confetti cannon and confetti will pop out and then confetti will blow all throughout the This is a noisemaker and it makes a very loud sound.

And then these are blowers which you'll put in your mouth and you'll blow.

And this will also make a very loud sound.

And this costs $6.

But there's a set.

There are eight pieces inside this set.

And people normally use noisemakers or blowers because this will ward off the evil spirits and will bring good luck to the New Year.

Every year my family and I, we bang pots and pans because that makes really loud noises and that brings in good luck for the New Year.

I know that many people all around the world celebrate the New Year differently.

I know that in Australia they are one of the first people to celebrate the New Year.

And then I read online that people in Italy will normally wear red underwear.

If you're from Italy, let me know down below if you wear red underwear for the New Year.

And I know that in some Latin American countries in South America they eat 12 grapes and each grape is one wish for the New Year.

Also some people may go outside their house and they may walk with a suitcase and that means they will travel a lot that year, that New Year.

And here in the United States the most famous tradition is watching the ball drop in Times Square.

So I've never been to We'll put it on on the TV, we will count down backward from 10 to 1 and the ball will drop right in the middle of New York City.

And let me know down below what you guys normally do to celebrate the New Year.

How do you celebrate New Year's Eve?

Because I know in China they don't celebrate the New Year until the end of January or the beginning of February because they have a totally different calendar.

So let me know down below your New Year's traditions in your country.

Another way to celebrate the New Year is drinking.

So let's say this is a real champagne bottle.

This isn't a real champagne bottle, it's just confetti.

But if it were real I would pour the champagne bottle in a champagne glass and then after pouring that champagne glass I would go next to my friend or family member and I would cheers them.

I would say cheers, I would tap the cheers.

Of course this store sells everything you need to host a party, to have a party.

So if you're hosting a party and don't want to wash your plates or your dishes you can buy plastic plates.

This plate has a clock on it.

They even sell plastic cups and these cups say Happy New Year.

So each thing in this aisle has the same theme.

They are black, gold, and silver and they all say Happy New Year.

They even sell napkins that say 2024 the New Year.

But I'm not hosting a party this year so I'm just going to buy this.

This is a beautiful headband that will combine with my dress.
