  • I love collecting furniture, so most of the items are secondhand.

  • You don't need a big budget to find pieces with design and personality.

  • This is my home, my very first apartment purchase.

  • It's a small space, but that didn't stop me from embracing the challenge and unleashing my creativity.

  • This episode is brought to you by Eva, thoughtful everyday.

  • Finding the right sofa bed for my small apartment was a challenge, until I discovered the Eva Slide-Away Sofa Bed.

  • And this versatile sofa transitions easily from a 3-seater sofa bed for entertaining, into a day bed for lounging or gaming, and finally to a double bed when you have someone staying over, or even perfect when you have a fight with your partner.

  • Now the assembly is super easy, just 8 of those mushroom looking screws and no tools.

  • The slick slatted design is so satisfying and stylish.

  • And of course it is made from sustainably sourced timber, and the cushions are made from super comfy recycled forms of cups and memory foams.

  • And the washable covers come in various colours and materials, making it easy to switch things up when there's a mess, or just for a fresh look to the room.

  • Nice pic Shiro.

  • It fits perfectly into a small living room, and we actually mostly keep it in day bed mode, even though it takes up more space in the day bed mode, but the slick legs make it feel like it's floating, and keeps it from looking clunky.

  • And we even used the space under the sofa for extra storage.

  • Clever, beautiful and practical.

  • Eva, thoughtful every day.

  • Together with the Studio Dot, we transformed this compact space.

  • Cami needed to integrate all the functions of the home without dividing the spaces.

  • My goal was to create a multifunctional area that includes everything.

  • That's when the Studio Dot proposed a single piece of furniture that would span the entire space, integrating all these functions.

  • For me, living in such a small space was a completely new experience.

  • I was worried I might feel confined, but it turned out to be quite the opposite.

  • I have everything I need right here.

  • Everything was in a very poor condition.

  • The vault was plastered over, and the beams were coated with a glossy dark varnish.

  • For me, it was a surprise when we took the plaster off and we found this amazing ceiling.

  • In this case, we decided to restore the vault and wooden beams to give the home its character.

  • And it's part of the story of Spanish building.

  • There was a small bathroom by the entrance and a kitchen with an L-shaped counter in the middle of the apartment.

  • We kept the bathroom in its original location and decided to unify all the functions within a single space using a multifunctional oak wood furniture.

  • I wanted a living and dining area near the balcony, as it's the only source of natural light.

  • This layout also makes the bed area feel like a separate bedroom.

  • Sants is a neighborhood with a strong identity, being the oldest and largest in the district.

  • It is a busy area in a typical old Catalan quarter.

  • The building was constructed in 1930 in a modern style, featuring wooden beams and a When you first enter the apartment, you are greeted by a beautiful red armored door.

  • The door was changed before the renovation to add security.

  • In Barcelona, you must copy the design and color of the original, but you can change the material.

  • The bedroom can be separated from the rest of the apartment by a linen curtain.

  • I purchased the fabric and made the curtains by myself.

  • I chose a bed with a storage base.

  • The headboard features a built-in shelf that cleverly hides the original kitchen pipes.

  • Now it serves as a place to display books and my projector.

  • From the bed, there is a full-height wardrobe for all my clothes.

  • Custom furniture allows us to maximize the storage within a small space, and it is something that we like to do in all of our projects.

  • In the kitchen, we decided not to install upper cabinets, choosing instead for a single shelf to showcase most of Camila's tableware.

  • We chose a cooktop with an integrated extractor to keep the space above open and light.

  • It works really well and it's really quiet, so it's not only for aesthetics.

  • The splashback tiles are handcrafted from the Spanish brand Equip.

  • I chose a light colored tile to allow my items to pop.

  • Another key decision was to design a continuous furniture element that changes function as you move through the home.

  • This natural oak piece adds warmth, synthesizes and unifies the space.

  • Beside the wardrobe, there is more storage for the kitchen.

  • We also integrate a fridge and a boiler above.

  • I've always wanted a glass table and some chest-cut chairs, so I found one to fit this space.

  • The glass table allows you to see through it, so it creates a sense of lightness.

  • It's important in a small apartment not to have furniture that visually blocks the space.

  • For the dining table, I add a wool lamp with a swing arm that can be moved.

  • For me, it was a surprise when we took the plaster off and we found this amazing ceiling.

  • And it's part of the story of Spanish building.

  • To highlight the Catalan vault, we added wall lights between the wooden beams.

  • The centerpiece of the apartment is a Danish design sofa bed by Softline.

  • At the end of the apartment, next to the sofa, I added a white Memphis lamp that creates a warm, cozy atmosphere when we gather on the sofa at night.

  • We removed the original floating floor and replaced them with micro-cement.

  • It creates a sense of calm and a more minimalist feel.

  • It was important to have a comfortable space for Camila, but also have a space for guests when needed.

  • As Argentinians, we are used to having family and friends staying in our homes.

  • Facing the sofa, continuing the kitchen line, is my workspace with a large desk area.

  • I placed a kilted chair from the 1960s as a key piece.

  • It has wheels and when guests come over, it can be easily moved to provide extra seating by the sofa.

  • The balcony offers stunning views of the National Art Museum of Catalonia.

  • I have a table and two chairs where I usually have a breakfast there.

  • By the entrance, there is a bathroom, which due to the budget constraints, remained in its original state with only superficial updates.

  • It is quite compact, but the windows help to bring in some natural light and fresh air.

  • We moved the water heater to make the bathroom feel more spacious and luminous.

  • My philosophy for small spaces is to have less but well-thought-out objects.

  • They need to be both beautiful and functional.

  • We believe in being environmentally friendly, which is why we think it's key to preserve the original materials in a project.

  • We embrace the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection and we like to see the natural wear of materials, as nothing is truly perfect or permanent.
