And it just was a lot of mistakes made and a lot of good times and a lot of sad times and frustration.

And through it all, everybody just kept growing and the program kept growing and kept bringing in better people.

And then when he came, that's when it took off.

So this is the guy that made it happen.

When he came, it gave everybody the example of what real excellence is, the top level.

Raised the level of everything everybody was doing and then attracted other people who could help us win this championship.

So it gets most of the credit.

I didn't fail really fast during the race, I think because that guy was 148.2 and he was really moving.

And it was really fun to race him.

So I guess it was not the best feeling, but I tried really hard to do my turns pretty well, trying to do underwater pretty decent too and yeah, try to go for it from the very beginning too.

And yeah, 146 is really good, I'm really happy with it.

It's amazing.

When I called the coaches before coming to the US, they were like, what was the ranking?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And they were like, it's possible.

Yes, if we build that team, we can do it in a few years.

And I really trusted them from the very beginning and now we did it.

So I'm really happy with it, really proud of all the coaches, all my teammates and everything.

I've never really been really social, but since I came here three years ago, I think it really changed a lot.

Also the leadership aspect, I think.

I know people watching me, they also learn from me and I love giving advices, helping them every day.

And we all do that, it's not just me.

So that's how we push together every day in practice and yeah, it's been great and I'm learning a lot of stuff from it.

I think it will help me in my life, not just in swimming, just the way we worked really hard in the past three years.

Always showing up, always doing the work, always supporting your teammates and even when it's really hard sometimes, but yeah, I'm learning a lot.

I love the process, so for me, I have joy every day.

When I get to coach someone like that, it doesn't get any better.

So when I get here, really I don't have to do very much but sit back and watch them and enjoy or try to help them get a little faster.

So for me, the process is what's important and these outcomes are amazing, but I find joy in every day.

But we saw different emotions. Yeah, you know, I just wanted to make sure that number one, I enjoyed it because a lot of times I'm the guy who makes it not fun, I'm the guy who has to keep everybody on task and doing this and doing that and I just wanted to enjoy being with them and just kind of participate in the joy of it.
