  • Hey, I'm Wilbur!

  • I've noticed that everybody's been getting really excited about one thing lately, Christmas.

  • I wanted to learn more, so I asked my friends at Webcertain, and they told me that each country has its own unique Christmas traditions.

  • My friend Susanna comes from Austria, and she says that on the 5th and 6th of December, they have the terrifying Krampus!

  • The Krampus is a scary-looking creature with a costume made up of real fur, huge cowbells and horns, carrying a wooden stick.

  • Parades go through towns, and whilst good children are rewarded by St.

  • Nikolaus by being given sweets, the Krampus would traditionally punish naughty children by beating them with their sticks.

  • For health and safety reasons, that's not allowed anymore, but the Krampus still makes a lot of noise with their cowbells and hit people gently.

  • Come to think of it, I'm going to behave myself from now on!

  • I hope you've enjoyed learning how they do things in Austria.

  • Happy Christmas from everyone here at Webcertain!
