What's going on guys?
Melissa Miller aka Melissa Backwoods here and we are at SHOT Show 2025.
This is the largest firearms trade show in the world.
But something that runs alongside firearms is cutlery and there are a lot of knife companies here.
They're showcasing some of the new products for 2025.
I can guess that probably some of the knives you see in this video you've never seen before.
Let's go check out all the new products coming out this year.
There's something like 2,000 exhibitors at SHOT Show.
I think only about 50 or 60 of them are cutlery.
We are going to first start off and head to the WUX booth.
Okay we have made it to the WUX booth and something that has caught my eye over here is their brand new hunting axe.
This is called the Terra.
They're made in Italy.
They come with a nice leather sheath and the goal behind this it's only 25 ounces in weight trying to minimize as much weight as possible for the outdoor enthusiasts and hunter.
It's got a really wide surface area and a skeletonized handle to reduce weight.
Something that would complement this well is the Bad Boy which is another WUX product.
The Bad Boy drop point knife.
These are also made in Italy. $119.
Looks cool on the belt.
Wrong side, wrong side though.
I need to switch it over.
Okay and we're coming in hot on the Microtech booth.
Oh and the man, the myth, the legend is here himself Tony from Microtech.
What are we excited about this year You know the biggest proportion that we're excited about is the new Ultratech Gen 3.
It has the new drivetrain, crud cutters, the new clip and it has the zero blade play technology.
So the new drivetrains are awesome.
You know hard coat chassis, M390 MK steel which we absolutely love but this new mechanism that we're sporting is just as reliable as it's been for since 1999 but it started out in the new Gen 3 Ultratech and will be incorporated into all the models between now and blade show.
So we're pretty excited about that.
Awesome.
Thank you for taking a moment to discuss it with us.
Walking by the Spyderco booth and I did notice they have a new one on deck for this year.
This is the Edgerati.
The brainchild of Spyderco founder Sal Glesser and this was inspired by the framework of the Maserati.
Actually named the Edgerati.
I think they said it was going to retail for around $320.
CPM S30V steel and then we have this handle that is crafted out of air grade aluminum.
Very lightweight for for its size.
Hey Colin just found me on the floor but Colin's got a really new exciting design coming out with Topps knives.
When is it coming out?
Yeah it should be available soon if not now.
Okay.
This is a variation of the Backbite which was introduced some time ago.
It is designed for Russian martial art type maneuvers which are based on locomotion.
That being striking outward, striking backwards, hammered fists.
Okay and what we've introduced to the Backbite is the new serrated edge.
Okay that should help grab and help bleed and this is a pure self-defense implement designed for as a purpose-built fighting knife.
Thank you so much man.
I do like the normal French braid up here but then as I'm when I start bringing from here I do.
Yeah it's all mine.
Yeah yeah yeah it's all mine.
Yeah yeah it's all my hair.
Now we have just arrived at the case booth and they have some new things in store.
This is one that caught my eye at the case booth.
This is the Crossroad.
It's going to retail for only 80 bucks.
S35V in steel and this is kind of a traditional meets modern silhouette.
So on traditional slip joints you'll see they're held together by pins but on the Crossroad, this one is held together by screws and it's got kind of a modern vibe.
I really like the blade shape on this.
I like the little X's that are in the frame.
And Brent's going to explain the Baby Doc which is going to be available.
It's available this year.
It's our new vault pattern for 2025.
So every year case does a vault pattern.
This year we brought out the Baby Doc.
It is the 82 pattern.
You'll see here it's got a small pen blade and a spatula and this knife was originally used by doctors who would do house calls and they would need to come to somebody's house and cut pills and sort pills.
So that's the reason for the two different blade styles.
It's coming out of the vault for one year only and it'll go back in at the end of 2025.
So get yours this year.
Thank you.
And what's the retail?
This is going to retail anywhere from $60 to $120 based on the materials.
Stop by the Coast booth.
They've been releasing some knives and some cool flashlights.
We have McKenzie MT400 from Coast.
So nice integrated inside the grip tooling which makes it really nice for access.
Also you don't have your hands going on the actual tool itself on both sides.
In the plier itself you have the nice interchangeable cutters here in the head of the plier.
Nice spring back on the plier itself.
This will fully fold all the way down and comes with a Hey Siri, what is a data broker?
A data broker is an individual or company that specializes in collecting personal data or data about people mostly from public records but sometimes sourced privately and selling or licensing such information to third parties for a variety of uses.
I do not like that at all.
I wanted to take a quick moment to thank today's video sponsor and that is Delete.me.
Did you know that your personal data can be sold online by data brokers?
Basically anybody can buy your personal details.
So what are some of the risks related to this?
Well there's risk of identity theft, there's the risk of phishing scams, there's even the risk of being harassed, doxed, and even stalked.
I've been stalked before and it was a very scary experience.
Delete.me is a service that helps you keep your personal information private.
So it's really simple.
You submit your personal information, the team of experts over there review it, and within seven days you receive a comprehensive report that lets you know where all of your data is being shared.
Here's the report that I just got back.
It's really amazing.
I had no clue that my data was on all of these websites.
People seem to really enjoy Delete.me as a service.
I also think this would make a really good gift for somebody that you really care about.
Right now you can get 20% off Delete.me when you go to joindelete.me.com backwoods and when you use promo code backwoods at the checkout.
I will link that as the first link in the description below.
Again that is 20% off with promo code backwoods.
Thank you so much to Delete.me for sponsoring this video.
Okay let's get back into it.
We just came in on the Fox Nice booth and we have Mike here and then Mike just pulled out a really cool new one from Bob Terzola.
I kind of already see it happening here at the show right here.
Over time that handle is going to develop a patina from holding it and using it.
So these are going to be available in May 2025.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Fox America's original gangster Bob Terzola design.
I also just wanted to show these because these are too fun.
I think there's going to be like 120, 130 bucks.
These are some very deluxe cigar cutters coming in from Fox Nice.
Oh this one's got carbon fiber inlay.
And then oh we get the Lionsteel booth.
This is the Atcha.
The Atcha is going to retail for $240 and it's a takedown knife.
Now usually takedown knives are custom.
A lot of the times they're in the thousands of dollars range but this is a production takedown knife.
He's unscrewing this little end bolt cap and then we can disassemble the knife.
You see the handle and then we can see the entirety of the blades tang and you can also slide off the guard.
Too cool.
And then here's all the color variants you can get.
These are going to become available in the March.
The black variant comes with this black sheath and then the satin blade finish comes with the leather sheath.
This is Ruslan and he has got a new multi-tool for his brand Straight Line.
Yeah show us how that works again.
There's a, all right so it pops out right here and then inside here there's like a chamber that you load with all of the, oh my god that's so freaking cool.
Whoa.
So you can choose your bit and then you load the chamber, you shut it, and then you pop it through.
No flipping way.
That is really cool.
Okay and I just ran into Tomas, a edge weapons expert, and his design is getting released next month.
Next month?
Next month, February 8th.
With T-Cal.
Okay run us over it Tomas.
So this is the Taktav Tanto designed in collaboration with T-Cal Knives.
It's going to be stainless.
I wanted something that was designed for personal protection and penetration, being able to thrust in and slash out while still maximizing your movements in the forward, reverse grip, transitions, the call grip, you name it, it's got you covered.
Oh hell yeah.
Thank you guys so much for this opportunity.
Again these are dropping February 21st.
That's the date, February 21st, T-CalKnives.com.
Yeah that'd be cool.
Found the Topps booth.
Here are some of the new releases from Topps Knives.
I don't know if there's any other brand releasing as many new and exciting fixed blade designs as Topps.
Let's start off with the Upswarm.
Notice this pinky groove right here, kind of like a pinky ring without the ring.
This feels exceptionally comfortable in the hand.
They're going to release this one later and in probably the second quarter of the year.
This one caught my eye immediately.
This one doesn't even have a vet.
He is actually a Mexican knife YouTuber who does all his videos in Spanish.
This thing is just wicked, really comfortable.
But yeah, we love to get more details on this one soon.
New variation of the Joe Flowers design, the Brachimo.
This is a nice bush knife right here.
Generous lanyard hole.
Looks like we've got a little divot right there for your primitive bow drilling.
And some cool stipling here on the handle, very comfortable.
Plus notice that nice long, kind of thinner blade stock, especially for a survival knife.
This one will be coming out later this year.
And another one that has really caught my eye is the Enchanter.
This is one that's definitely made with self-defense in mind.
We have machining out right here, going to remove and reduce some weight.
We have a dagger blade shape with this interesting kind of thumb ramp up right here and a generous finger groove right there that is going to basically keep your hand.
This all acts like a guard so when we're piercing forward, our hand is not going to slide up on that blade.
Okay, we're entering Civivi territory and as always, they got a lot of new products on deck, including some ones that are coming soon.
Kyle Lamb Soken.
Check this one out.
That one stuck out right away.
Soken, this one's going to retail for $94.
Coming out later this year.
G10 Nitro-V blade steel, wicked, murdered out, all black design.
And then we got these lashing screws running through the handle.
So yeah, that is sick.
The Anaki.
This one's going to have Nitro-V blade steel, $105.
Aluminum handle, wicked machining, wicked blade profile, button lock, super snappy.
This thing's got to be like 2.5 ounces.
We have a folding karambit design coming soon.
It is also a button lock.
But check out this little tab right there.
When we slide that in our pants seam, that's going to catch on the pant seam and fold that knife out so it's ready.
Nitro-V blade steel, aluminum handle.
Oh, and see this little hook right here?
I asked the designer, I mean, I thought it was a seatbelt cutter.
He said that that's meant so when you pierce into somebody, you can actually rip it out and it would slice their skin that way, something like that.
Well, well, well, look who it is.
Zach, which one, which one's catching your eye?
Zach Oh my gosh, I literally just showed up.
There are two that popped off the board to me right away.
So the Krabby, mainly just because, you know, you got that Sabebe Micarta and it's a Kenny Junior, Ken Onion Junior design, which is really rad.
And I don't know anything about the sheath, but this little fixed blade is sweet.
That thing, that bling, it was the first one that I heard.
Oh yeah, yeah.
Yeah, Kyle Lamb Design.
Cool.
Thanks, man.
It has been a long day.
Oh, it's really fun.
Oh, it's okay.
Wait.
This is sick.
Okay.
I'm going to hurt somebody.
I don't want to.
And we have just gone to the Boker booth.
One of the focuses for Boker this year is getting back in the USA market and they're coming in hard with the Boker backcountry.
This is going to be a USA made fixed blade, $235, featuring MagnaCut steel.
G10 handles, ultra thin profile, high-vis orange.
I think it's coming in a couple of different colors.
We have champagne here, here, lanyard hole, and that, that feels, that feels good.
Oh my God.
Look at this thing.
The Boker Plus Northwood Bowie, Bowie, whatever you want to call it. 109 bucks.
Holy crap.
What is this made with?
Carbon steel and it's 10 inches, 11 inches blade length.
The Lansky booth, and they have an updated version of their master's edge sharpening system.
Here's the sharpening system.
You turn it over and then you have the diamond rods.
And then we get this, which is going to act as our hand guard.
We have one, two, three sharpening angles, 17 degrees, 20 degrees, and 25 degrees.
Pop your sharpening rods in right there.
Then you're ready to sharpen.
They seem to retail for around $130.
Cool little portable sharpening rod system that you can pack up, throw in your bag, your kit, whatever.
Okay.
We're coming in on the Schrade booth and they have a new budget model this year for $35 is the Turnkey.
Available in March, 2025, just under three ounces.
It's got this pivot lock right here, which is the Schrade version of the crossbar lock.
Nice little ADC blade, pretty little drop point shape, and it is ambidextrous.
At Smith & Wesson, we have the MPOTF compact knife.
This is actually a spring-assisted.
I know it looks like your typical OTF knife, but you have to press this one right here, take it out, and then it's spring-assisted to shoot it out.
And once you get the hang of it, you can kind of do that with one hand.
Yeah, it's basically a spring-assisted knife that comes out the front.
And this one's going to be available in spring 2025.
Here's another good budget option from Smith & Wesson for $30.
This is the Special Ops crossbar lock holder, 7Cr8 blade steel, aluminum handle, and that crossbar lock.
Also, this one is going to be ambidextrous.
This will be available spring 2025.
We just entered yet another ballroom.
It's like the fifth ballroom we've walked through.
Hell yeah, dude, that is sick.
Oh, yeah!
Thank you.
And Cerakote's going to do a custom engraving on the spot for me.
Pretty awesome of them.
Start off looking like this, and then when Cerakote puts it through the works, it's going to end up like this.
It's going to be the honors of closing it.
Oh, and then you can see the process.
Yeah, oh, cool.
Okay.
Hey!
I own custom topple leather, man.
Too darn neat.
It's very fun.
It's very fun.
Sorry.
Okay, I think that is a good conclusion to today at SHOT Show.
I hope you guys enjoyed some of those products.
Let me know in the comments which products you thought were the most interesting or which ones you are excited to possibly get your hands on.
Hope you guys enjoyed it.
Okay, have a good one.
