  • What God said would happen, is happening.

  • So it's nothing to fear.

  • In fact, it's everything to encourage you.

  • God is on the throne.

  • He knew it before it happened.

  • Nothing surprises Him.

  • And He chose you to live in this hour.

  • It says this.

  • Verse 21.

  • For there will be a great tribulation, such as never occurred on the beginning of the world until now, nor will ever again.

  • And if those days hadn't been cut short, no life would have been saved.

  • But for the sake of the elect, the days will be cut short.

  • You read the book of Revelation and what you see is exactly that.

  • You see tribulation.

  • You see danger.

  • You see calamity.

  • And if those days were not cut short, there would be no one saved.

  • The Greek word that Messiah, so Messiah is talking about that which you're reading in Revelation.

  • The Greek word that he uses here for tribulation is the Greek word thalipsis, which means great affliction, great anguish, great trouble, great pressure, and persecution.

  • Some of you might be saying, well it sounds like my life right now.

  • Well just wait.

  • Keep waiting as things go.

  • Now let's go to look at verse 6.

  • You will hear of wars and rumors of wars.

  • See that you are not alarmed.

  • For these things must take place, but that is not yet the end.

  • For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.

  • And there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

  • But these are only the beginning of birth pangs.

  • What is he talking about?

  • Revelation 6.

  • Listen to what it says here.

  • Then I saw when the Lamb opened up one of the seven seals.

  • I heard one of the four living creatures say, with a voice like thunder, come.

  • And I looked and behold there was a white horse.

  • Then it goes on.

  • Then there was a red horse.

  • Then there was a black horse.

  • Then there was a green or pale horse.

  • The first horse, white, is of conquest.

  • The second horse, red, is of war.

  • The third horse, black, is of famine.

  • The fourth one, pale green, is death.

  • Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, of the earth to kill with sword, famine, and pestilence.

  • Now look at what Messiah just said.

  • In that time there will be war.

  • That's the red horse.

  • There will be famine.

  • That is the black horse.

  • There, and there will be death.

  • That's the green horse.

  • The other one is conquest.

  • But he also says, he goes on, and, and in Luke 21, and actually what we just read before, but also in Luke 21, he says there will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, fearful events and great signs from the heavens.

  • So Messiah is speaking of earthquakes.

  • What about the book of Revelation?

  • The same chapter of the four horses says, and I looked, when he broke the sixth seal there was a great earthquake.

  • Everything is matched together.

  • The words of Messiah go on and he says, but, it says in Matthew 24, verse 29, but immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.

  • Now that's, he says the sun will be darkened.

  • The moon will not give its light.

  • Revelation 6, the same chapter of the four horsemen, says the sun became as black as sackcloth, made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood.

  • Now everything is matching.

  • Messiah is talking about Revelation.

  • Revelation is in reference to the words of Messiah.

  • It says here, a note, actually a note.

  • It's become an idea in the body of Messiah that when the Bible says the sun will be darkened it's talking about solar eclipses.

  • That so, that a solar eclipse is a sign of judgment.

  • And then when the Bible speaks of the moon turning red it's speaking of lunar eclipses or the blood moon.

  • The lunar eclipses are a sign of judgment.

  • Well it's not really saying that here.

  • It's speaking of things that don't normally happen.

  • They're part of cataclysmic events.

  • Lunar eclipses, solar eclipses are part of the regular course of nature.

  • Can God use them at certain times to, to know judgment?

  • He can.

  • The writings of the rabbis say that they are.

  • But the, that these things can be signs but they are not necessarily signs.

  • So be careful.

  • You have to be careful.

  • The ultimate context here is a cataclysmic changing of nature, not the regular course.

  • God can use that but He's not guaranteed to use that.

  • Let's go on.

  • Matthew 24 the Lord also says, He says, He says, stars will fall from the sky and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

  • Now He's not speaking of what we call stars like suns of other systems.

  • In ancient times any light in the sky was called a star, including planets.

  • In fact the word planet comes from the Greek planetes which means a wandering star.

  • Because it didn't follow the regular course because planets are going on their own.

  • So a planet is a wandering star.

  • So this really means any light from the heavens coming down on the earth.

  • It can refer to meteors, asteroids, lights in the sky.

  • Revelation, now go to Revelation 6.

  • We're going back and forth.

  • For the four horsemen.

  • Verse 13 says, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as a fig tree drops its unripe figs when it's shaken by a great wind.

  • So it's so consistent.

  • Now what if John, this is just, this is not doctrine or dogma.

  • What if John was actually, would see what we would call a nuclear exchange of nuclear missiles.

  • You saw the missiles that came from Iran over Israel.

  • They come to a, someone like John, it's, this is the same as a light or a star.

  • And they come down and they bring destruction.

  • And now look at this one.

  • Revelation 8 says, the third angel sounded and a great star fell from heaven burning like a torch and fell on a third of the rivers on the springs of water.

  • The star is called Wormwood.

  • And a third of the water became Wormwood.

  • Many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.

  • Interesting because, because also, and I'm not saying this has to be the way, but it could include this, nuclear weapons would come as like stars coming down and they would bring poisoning to the earth.

  • The greatest nuclear poisoning in history was called Chernobyl.

  • When the nuclear reactor in the Soviet Union broke down it poisoned the whole city and the whole land.

  • It's striking because the name Chernobyl in Russian means Wormwood.

  • And do you know the monument that they put up in Chernobyl?

  • Let me show you.

  • This is the monument over Chernobyl.

  • If you're going to the reactor, it has an angel blowing a trumpet.

  • That's the third angel.

  • It says the third angel sounded and a great star came, Wormwood, or in Russian Chernobyl.

  • That is what's standing in front of Chernobyl.

  • So could it be a link when Messiah says stars falling from the sky?

  • I'm not saying it has to be, but could it include this?

  • Could it include, you know, when you look at Revelation, these are things that could not be imagined years ago, but now we can actually imagine that because of what we have, the powers that we have.

  • Now speaking of powers, the Lord then goes, says in Matthew 24, he says the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

  • He said the stars coming down and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

  • Interesting, I'm not again being dogmatic, but interesting because the word for heaven there is the word, the normal word, which is Uranus.

  • Or from the word Uranus comes a word that we call Uranium.

  • Uranium is the source of atomic destruction.

  • The powers of Uranus, but you could say the powers of Uranium being shaken cause nuclear destruction.

  • I'm not saying this is the first meaning of it, but it could be a layer of that.

  • And some, again, some of this destruction that we watch, even now scientists and politicians speak of nuclear apocalypse.

  • They use the word from Revelation to speak about it.

  • Could that be part of it?

  • It could.

  • Notice what the Bible says will destroy most of the world, much of the world in the last days.

  • In Revelation 8 it says this, verse 7.

  • The first sounded there was hail and fire mixed with blood hurled to the earth and a third of the earth was burned up and third of the trees burned and the grass burned.

  • Now listen.

  • These are the words of Peter.

  • That's Revelation.

  • But this is the word of Peter.

  • Now Peter is a fisherman from Galilee.

  • You wouldn't expect him to know anything about future events, of course in the natural, or about what we could do to this earth right now.

  • But listen to 2 Peter 3.

  • It says this.

  • The day of the Lord will come like a thief in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat.

  • The earth and its works will be unveiled.

  • Since all these things are to be destroyed this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy content?

  • Looking for the coming of the Lord in which the heavens will be destroyed by burning and the elements will melt with intense heat.

  • Peter is the same one who says the world at that time of Noah was destroyed by water.

  • But by his word the present heavens and the earth will be destroyed by fire.

  • Fire.

    火災

  • Notice.

    通知

  • It won't just burn up but it will happen with a roar.

  • A sudden burst of power.

  • And he says the elements will melt.

  • Now the original language, the word is stoichion, which means the fundamental or the element foundational order here about, of the when you were in school you had to learn the, the elements.

  • You know you had to learn there was a hydrogen and oxygen and carbon.

  • There's a sheet and helium.

  • These are the atoms.

  • They're each of that, make up everything else.

  • Interesting because here it says the basic elements of the universe will melt in fire, or melt in heat.

  • Melt.

  • The word in Greek actually means, can mean melt, can also mean will break apart, will be destroyed, will be loosened, as in the elements will be loosened.

  • Could that be even to the point where atoms are loosened?

  • In the natural this is something that could not happen until the atomic age.

  • What else does Peter say about the end times?

  • In the same chapter, 2 Peter 3, he says, know first of all that in the last days mockers will come with their is the promise of his coming.

  • So what does it say in the last days?

  • They'll be mocking those who have faith and those who follow the word.

  • Messiah said when the Son of Man comes will he find faith in the earth.

  • There are those who believe we are to take over the world as believers and hand it to Messiah, called dominionism.

  • And there's some good, there are good people.

  • I'm sure they mean well.

  • But that's not just, that's not quite the Bible.

  • Yes we should have a victorious attitude.

  • Yes we should seek to change our culture, change our world, be a light.

  • Absolutely do touch every realm.

  • You've heard me say it.

  • Politics.

    政治

  • Every realm.

  • As much as we can.

  • But don't forget the rest of the Bible.

  • What does Messiah say?

  • Matthew 24, verse 10.

  • And at that time many will fall away and they will betray one another and hate each other.

  • The word here is skandalizo.

  • They will fall away.

  • Which means entrapped or stumble or enticed to sin or enticed to apostasy.

  • And that matches up with what Paul says of the last days.

  • Second Thessalonians 2.

  • Very important.

  • We ask you brothers and sisters recording, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah, and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your peace or be disturbed by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us to the effect of the day the Lord has already come.

  • Let no one deceive you in any way for it will not come until the apostasy comes first.

  • The day of the Lord will not come until the apostasy comes first.

  • All right.

  • So what it's saying is before the Lord comes there's going to be a great falling away.

  • Does that match up with Revelation?

  • It sure does.

  • Revelation 13 says they worshiped the dragon.

  • Because that's the devil.

  • Talking about the world.

  • Because he gave his authority to the beast, the Antichrist.

  • They worshiped the beast saying who is like the beast and who is able to wage war against him.

  • Revelation depicts a world that is given to evil.

  • That worships the beast, the Antichrist, hates the things of God.

  • That's totally in line with what Messiah and the writers of the New Testament say.

  • Revelation shows a world that is overwhelmingly ungodly, godless, and anti-God.

  • And the words of Messiah and the New Testament are, they fill in the gap.

  • They describe how it got there.

  • And they said the, the way it got there is what is called here apostasy.

  • The Greek word is apostasia, falling away.

  • In other words a civilization that once knew God turns away from God, falls away.

  • Now it's amazing that the Bible says this.

  • This is 2,000 years ago.

  • When believers were just a tiny, tiny group of people in the Roman Empire.

  • Yet it's saying, it's implicit that this faith is going to spread all over the world.

  • And in the last days people are going to fall away from the faith.

  • But this is said before there was anything.

  • A worldwide falling away.

  • And you know what?

  • It is our generation that has witnessed the greatest, fastest, massive falling away from the faith in 2,000 years.

  • Particularly the last 20 years.

  • When you look, just like in America alone, you look it's every year the percentage of those who call themselves Christians goes down by one point.

  • That's massive.

  • Where it was something like 90%, it's like in the 60s now in America.

  • Who call themselves.
