What's up guys?
It's Doug here and I'm here in beautiful sunny Istanbul, Turkey, where I live.
If you guys want to see the videos that I've made so far here in Turkey, you can check those out at the top of the screen.
But in this video today, I wanted to make a quick one that's a little bit different than what I normally do.
And that is to tell you about the gear that I use as a travel vlogger, full-time travel vlogger in 2024.
I get a lot of questions in the comments and on Instagram about what gear I use, what cameras I use, what stuff I take on the road with me.
And so I wanted to put this video together to tell you guys the gear that I use and the stuff that I recommend you guys use if you're thinking about getting into the travel content creation game yourself.
So here we go.
First up is something that really makes everything else that I'm going to talk about in this video work.
And that is this Tessan Universal Travel Adapter.
This thing is a must-have.
I carry it with me every time I travel.
Basically, like I said, it makes everything possible because it charges everything.
This is the 65 watt version and I absolutely love it because it's powerful enough to charge all my electronics, even my laptop.
You guys can see at the bottom there, there are two USB-C ports and there are two USB-A ports.
So it really works with just about everything.
And on the backside here, you've got three, no actually four different plugs for the wall.
So you've got your US plug.
And then if you turn those, you've got your Australia plug.
We've got our British plug.
This is also used in Iraq, I know, and a bunch of other countries.
You've got our European plug.
And then on the front side, you've got a universal input so you can plug any of those and more into the front of it and use it basically all around the world.
I want to thank Tessan for sponsoring this video and making it possible for me to make this video and tell you guys about my gear.
And if you want to pick one up for yourself, go check out the link at the top of the description.
It's amazing.
All right, next up, let's talk cameras.
Very important for vlogging.
My primary camera, the one I shoot almost all my videos on, is the DJI Osmo Pocket 3.
It's the one I'm shooting on right now.
Guys, this camera, basically I love it more than life itself.
It is amazing.
I've been using the Osmo Pocket series since the original one.
This is now the third edition.
I've bought each one.
It is incredible.
It has a built-in mechanical gimbal on the camera, which means you get really stable footage, even in low light, which, you know, for action cameras, they have great stabilization when there's enough light.
But when it gets dark, things can get a little shaky.
They've added a one-inch sensor, so the video quality out of this camera is just insane.
I mean, to me, I think it's DSLR quality.
But what do I know?
I think it looks great.
It shoots 4K 60.
You can shoot slow motion videos up to 120 frames a second.
It shoots great time lapses, hyperlapses, can do object tracking, active track, I think they call it.
This camera is probably the biggest recommendation I can give to anyone who's thinking about getting into vlogging.
It's pretty affordable relative to some other vlogging cameras out there.
So yeah, I highly, highly recommend this camera.
I absolutely love it.
Oh, and one last thing, if you buy the Creator Combo for the DJI Pocket 3, you're gonna also get this nice little DJI Mic 2, which I'm using throughout this video.
It's a really handy wireless mic, and it pairs automatically to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3.
By the way, I should mention that all of the gear I'm talking about in this video, as well as a bunch more stuff you can find on the gear page on my website, I'll link it down in the description below.
And if you use those links to buy any of the stuff that I'm talking about, it will give me a small commission at no extra cost to you, so I'd really appreciate it.
Go check it out, see what you think.
Alright guys, next up we have another camera.
This is kind of my secondary camera.
It is also a camera by DJI.
This is the DJI Osmo Action 4.
If you can't already tell, I really love DJI products.
Please sponsor me.
This is a more traditional action camera.
It can take a fall, it can take dust, it's waterproof up to a certain depth.
It also has this awesome magnetic mounting system, so it can attach to a bunch of different accessories and that's how I get a lot of my POV shots.
So I will just attach it to an accessory and then clip it right to my backpack strap and then it frees up my hands to, you know, eat food or just talk to people or whatever else.
So I've been using it for that.
But hopefully, I'll use it for some more action-oriented activities in the near future as well.
I picked this camera up recently.
It's the newest addition to my camera arsenal.
But so far, I've really, really been enjoying it.
Alright guys, last camera on the list is actually my beloved drone.
I think this is number four for me because, you know, when you go to the places I go to, you tend to lose them.
However, I've always been a huge fan of DJI drones.
Yes, another DJI product.
This is the DJI Mini 4 Pro.
I love this drone.
It's tiny, it's compact, I can bring it anywhere with me.
And the newest addition, the Mini 4 Pro, has 360 obstacle avoidance, so I worry a lot less about running into things and losing my fourth drone.
This drone shoots up to 4K 60, shoots really great videos, great photos.
In fact, you can see one of the photos that I took up there on the wall behind me.
That was in the Philippines.
Go and check those videos out if you haven't seen them yet.
But yeah, as you can see, it's tiny but does such an amazing job.
One other really nice thing about this drone, the DJI Mini 4 Pro, is that the camera actually can physically turn 90 degrees to shoot true 4K vertical videos.
So the camera will physically turn on the drone and allow you to get that perfect format for social media, for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, all that good stuff.
And it's got a bunch of other really cool features like ActiveTrack, so you can draw a box around yourself on the screen and then it'll just follow you automatically.
You can even get it to do circles around you.
Really useful.
You don't have to, you know, be in control all the time on the remote.
Speaking of the remote, I have the DJI RC2 here.
This is the one that comes with the screen on the remote.
You can get also one where you just put your phone and attach it with a cord.
That's the cheaper option.
This is about, I think, 150 bucks more, but I used to have the one where you attach the phone and I eventually upgraded to the one with the screen built in, the DJI RC.
I love flying drones.
They've allowed me to do some really cool shots over the years.
Just recently I was in Hungary and got this super cool time lapse of the parliament building as it lit up at night as the sun was setting.
I was so pumped about that.
But yeah, they're a ton of fun.
I think they can improve your videos a lot, add some different flair and some dynamic clips to them.
So yeah, I'm a huge fan.
And a reminder guys, all of these products can be found on my website, which is linked down below.
So go check them out if you like what you see here.
All right guys, and to close the video out, I want to go rapid fire on three more products, kind of accessory type things that I use day to day that have been really helpful.
First is this SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD.
This is actually a two terabyte hard drive.
Hard to believe because it's so tiny and compact.
Super portable, tough, durable, has this nice kind of rubbery material on the outside.
And like I said, it holds two terabytes of data, videos, files, whatever you want to put on here, which is hugely valuable.
I use these to archive all my old videos and clips and I have a bunch of them.
They're fantastic.
They work great.
The next is this Hansky SD card and micro SD card case and protector.
You can see it just pops open like so and holds the micro SD cards and SD cards, protects them, keeps them organized.
Last product is actually not a physical product, but a service that I've been subscribed to for a long time.
It is what allows me to play things like this.
And also this.
And this as well.
And that is Epidemic Sound.
You may have heard of it.
It's very popular in the YouTube community, great for vlogs or really any kind of content that you're making.
And what this is, is that for a pretty affordable monthly price, you get access to a huge library of music that you can use in your videos without worrying about getting any copyright strikes or any of that nonsense.
They also have a huge sound effects library.
So if you're looking for any of that kind of thing, they've got you covered as well.
I've been using this basically since I got started on YouTube.
Their library is amazing.
It's impressive.
There are all sorts of ways to search and kind of hone in on what you're looking for, whether it's a vibe, a genre, a style.
You can even search by beats per minute.
So it's really cool.
And they're always adding new music.
There is a link down below as well if you want to get a free trial on there, risk-free.
And yeah, that is about it, guys.
I hope you enjoyed this video.
Of course, it's a little bit different than my traditional travel vlogs style.
But like I said at the beginning, I get a lot of questions about my gear.
And I think some of it is, you know, kind of unconventional, like the DJI Pocket 3.
It's a pretty weird, kind of quirky camera.
But I absolutely love it.
And I recommend it to everybody that I talk to.
So I wanted to make this video.
Hopefully, it was helpful to some of you guys out there.
Thanks again to Tesson for making this video possible.
Go check out their universal travel adapter at the first link down in the description below.
And like I said, if you want to find any of the other gear that I talked about, you can go check it out on my website, also linked down below.
That's it for now.
I'll be back again soon with more vlogs from around the world.
But other than that, thank you so much for watching, and I will see you in the next one.
Bye-bye.
