Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles - ARE YOU GONNA DO ANOTHER MOVIE? LET'S TALK ABOUT THAT, FIRST OF ALL. ARE YOU GONNA DO A "SEX AND THE CITY" MOVIE? [cheers and applause] - I'VE TRIED TO MAKE UP INTERESTING ANSWERS EVERY TIME I'VE BEEN ASKED THIS QUESTION LATELY, AND THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS, UH, UH, THERE IS--HAS BEEN NO REAL CONVERSATION ABOUT A THIRD MOVIE AT ALL. I KNOW THERE IS A STORY, BUT WHETHER OR NOT THAT STORY IS EVER TOLD REMAINS, TRULY, ONE OF THE GREAT MYSTERIES OF ALL TIME. - IT REALLY IS. IT IS ONE OF THE GREAT MYSTERIES BECAUSE PEOPLE REALLY WANT TO KNOW. AND ARE YOU SO HAPPY TO BE OUT OF NEW YORK CITY RIGHT NOW? IT IS FREEZING THERE. - OH, MY GOD. I--I HAVE NOT ESCAPED ONE DAY OF THIS BRUTAL, UNTHINKABLY COLD WINTER. BUT... I HAVE A SORT OF SECRET PRIDE IN IT. I FEEL LIKE IT'S A LITTLE BIT LIKE A BADGE OF HONOR, LIKE, YOU CAN SAY, IF YOU MEET A FELLOW SURVIVOR OF THIS STORM-- OF THE WINTER OF 2014 ON THE NORTHEAST CORRIDOR OF THIS COUNTRY, BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN, ON WARMER DAYS, IT HAS BEEN COLDER THAN WHEN IT'S BEEN COLDER. - I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING. - DURING THE POLAR VORTEX OF 2014, IT WAS FOUR DEGREES SOMETIMES, AND YET, IT WAS 21 DEGREES, I THINK, YESTERDAY, AND IT FELT LIKE IT WAS ABOUT 14 BELOW. IT'S A PHENOMENON. IT'S--IT'S-- YOU CANNOT BELIEVE HOW COLD IT IS. - NO, I SEE THE PICTURES. - IT'S A THRILL. - IT'S CRAZY. I--IT'S--I MEAN, THE PICTURES ARE INSANE. JUST--I MEAN, HERE, WE HAD TWO DAYS OF RAIN, SO I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. - I KNOW. I KNOW HOW YOU SUFFER. - I KNOW. [cheers and applause] IT WAS WET, AND THERE WAS WATER EVERYWHERE. IT WAS HORRIBLE. - NO, I HEARD. IT WAS CATASTROPHIC. - NO ONE WAS DRIVING BECAUSE WE COULDN'T. [laughter] I SEE YOU-- THERE'S PICTURES OF YOU THAT ARE--OF YOU TRYING TO WALK IN THE SNOW, AND WHY DO YOU INSIST ON WEARING SHOES LIKE THAT? - THAT IS SUCH A RARE-- I NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER DO THAT. BUT I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PRESENTABLE SOMEWHERE, AND THAT WAS MY VERSION OF A SNOW BOOT. BUT I WANT TO TELL YOU. THAT--THAT--I AM THE-- I SPEND A BETTER PART OF MY DAY EXTREMELY PRACTICALLY DRESSED. AND THAT IS ONE-- FOR INSTANCE, NOW, I WILL CONFESS THAT I AM NOT WEARING SOCKS. - YOU DON'T HAVE SOCKS ON. YOU'RE NOT WEARING SOCKS. - BUT I DON'T WEAR SOCKS. I NEVER WEAR SOCKS. EVEN IN THE DEAD OF WINTER. - WHY? - UM... I'M--I'M SO SHORT, THAT I TRY TO PRESERVE, LIKE, A LITTLE BIT OF SKIN TO SHOW THAT THERE IS MORE OF ME THAN MEETS THE EYE. - COULDN'T YOU JUST WEAR A HAT IF YOU WANTED ? - NO, I DO THAT TOO. [laughter] I'M ACCUSTOMED. I'VE ADAPTED TO THIS SECTION OF MY LEG. - YOU JUST SACRIFICE THAT SECTION OF YOUR LEG? - IS--HAS ADAPTED TO SUBZERO TEMPERATURES. IF I DID THIS... - WELL, YOU HAVE. - SAY, TWO WEEKS AGO, IN NEW YORK CITY, THIS PART WOULD BE IN SHOCK. THIS PART WOULD BE, LIKE, "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?" YOU KNOW? IT'S JUST--IT'S A--IT'S A-- IT'S A SURVIVAL KIND OF INSTINCT. - UH-HUH. - IT'S A WAY OF ACCLIMATING TO YOUR NATURAL HABITAT. - IT JUST SEEMS LIKE SUCH A HARD WAY-- I THINK NEW YORK-- I LOVE NEW YORK-- I LOVE NEW YORK SO MUCH-- - OKAY, HERE WE GO. - WHAT? - HOW HARD IT IS TO LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY. - WITH THAT KIND OF WEATHER, AND YOU HAVE KIDS, AND YOU'RE BUNDLING THEM UP, AND THEN YOU HAVE TO UNBUNDLE THEM EVERY TIME YOU GO IN. - AND YOU'RE CONSTANTLY IN A STATE OF BEING FREEZING AND SWEATING. - YES. - BECAUSE YOU'RE ENDLESSLY ARGUING WITH CHILDREN TO PUT ON BOOTS AND SNOW PANTS AND PUT SOCKS ON. - SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A TEMPER. [laughter]
