For Valentines day, Chocolate is the ultimate way to say “I love you.” I’m going to
show you how to make a delectable baked chocolate donut with a gooey chocolate glaze. Make this
for someone you love - your boyfriend/girlfriend, best friend, or mom. They will totally appreciate
and devour this extra sweet gesture. I’m going to start with my dry ingredients.
In a large bowl I’ll mix together 1 ¼ cups of flour, ½ a cup of sugar, ½ a tsp baking
soda, ½ a tsp of kosher salt, and ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder. I’ll mix it up
and set it aside. In another bowl, I’ll mix my wet ingredients.
I’m taking ½ cup of Coconut Oil - I like to use Coconut Oil but you can also substitute
it with melted butter, 1/2 cup of milk, ¼ cup coffee strong brewed coffee, the coffee
will really help bring out the flavor of the chocolate but if you don’t drink coffee
you can take this out. 1 egg, ½ tsp of white vinegar, and ½ tsp of vanilla. Now I’ll
combine the wet mixture with the dry mixture and stir until its combined.
Next I’m putting the batter into a piping bag and I’ll squeeze it into my donut pan.
I bought this mini donut pan because the donuts come out so cute and they make the perfect
gift for that special someone. I’ll pipe each donut about ¾ of the way full and I’ll
bake them at 350º F for 8 minutes. After the donuts are done baking I’ll let
them cool completely on cooling rack while I work on my glaze.
In a bowl, I’ll mix together 1 cup of powdered sugar, 3 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder,
a pinch of salt, 2 tbsp of whole milk, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract and mix until a nice
thick glaze comes together. If the glaze is too thick, slowly add in 1 tsp of milk at
a time until it gets to the right consistency. Finally I’ll dip each donut and then I’ll
decorate it with some heart sprinkles. And I’m done! Happy Valentine’s day and I
hope you do something special with your loved ones. I’ll see you guys next time! Bye
