Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles {MUSIC PLAYING] Valentine's Day is coming up, and hopefully you'll be getting a lot of love letters. But you want to keep those love letters in a keepsake box, because those are good memories and important memories to cherish forever. So I'm gonna show you guys how to make a Duck Tape card box using just a cylinder cardboard box you can get at the craft store. And I'm gonna make it kind of look like a wood stump by adding a little extra limb here, and I'm going to use the toilet paper roll to do that. So first, I'm going to cover the base of the box. This is a pretty simple process, just use your primary color or print that you've chosen. I'm going to use the camo skull print and cover the box. Great. So you're just gonna continue around and cover at the sides and the bottom, and it will look something like this. So now I'm gonna move on to the top, and I want to create a little slit here so that I can put all those love letters inside. So I'm gonna do that by using my craft knife to just cut a rectangle opening. OK. So now I'm gonna cover the top of the box with my accent color which is this neon green, and I'm just going to first line the edges of this little opening. So I'm just gonna lay this down here. And then I'm just going to cut a little diagonal line here in the corner which will just make it easier to fold in around the edges. And I'm just going to continue covering the top with my neon green. Great. So now that I have the top covered, I'm just gonna cut off the excess around the edge, using my craft knife to just trim it. I'm just going to remove this excess and cover the sides with my camo skull print. Line it up with the bottom edge of this box top, and that will give you access here at the top. And now you'll just take your scissors and cut slits, and this will really help you to get a nice clean edge when you fold this excess over onto the top of your lid. And they're even because I lined it up with the bottom so everything will look nice and finished. So just continue and finish the rest of your lid, and it will look like this. It's coming together. And now I want to add the embellishments. So because I want this to look kind of like a wood stump, I'm going to use this toilet paper roll and I'm just gonna cut about two inches of it. I'm going to cover the top with my accent color. So this neon green, I'm just going to cut a square and lay it over the top. And then I'm just gonna fold down the corners. OK. I'm going to cover the surrounding edge with my camo skull print. So I'm just gonna line up the edge with the top edge and cut in some more slits along this excess here. And these are going to be what will attach this piece to the base of your box. So just sort of splaying out these pieces, and there we go. And you can see how those tabs really help attach this nice and securely down. So that looks perfect. So now that I'm done with this, I want to add another embellishment to the front, so I'm going to use this template that I cut out. It's just a heart with an arrow. And I'm gonna use that on the back of my Duck Tape sheet. I'm going to outline it with my marker. I'm choosing to do a heart accent, but of course, you could do any kind of embellishment you want. And then you just want to cut it out, following the line. That will look something like this. Love it. So that looks pretty cute. I'm going to add even more because I can't help myself. So I precut using just a letter stencil-- the first letter of my name and the first letter of my boyfriend's name, Joey, plus a plus sign because I'm so in love. OK. I'm really getting cheesy. Super cute. Super cute. But I'm gonna add one more element. So I'm going to use my permanent marker, and I'm just going to create a little spiral here on the side and a spiral at the top 'cause it's supposed to be a tree stump. There are the lines of my tree, you know, showing the age. All right. It's complete. This is the color combo that I chose, but you could go more traditional with it and do a brown with beige accent. You can come up with their own color combos. And I hope you guys get a ton of love letters. I love you. [SOUND KISSING] Kisses. Thanks for watching. [MUSIC PLAYING]
