Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles In The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association News from Formosa (Taiwan)… Her Excellency Annette Lu Hsiu-Lien, the 10th and 11th term Vice President of Formosa (Taiwan), from 2000 to 2008, promotes sustainable living including the vegan diet. At the Green 21 Carnival in Taipei, Her Excellency demonstrated how to make a dish of bitter gourd with king oyster mushrooms, and encouraged the public and leaders to have animal-free meals. Her Excellency Annette Lu Hsiu-Lien, Vice President of Formosa (Taiwan), (2000-2008) (F): I call for all the officials, from the president to the local mayors, to make all their business meals vegan. No meat dish should be served at such occasions. VOICE: The Green 21 Carnival was held to raise awareness about ways to safeguard the Earth in the 21st century. Her Excellency Lu expressed some of the benefits of a plant-based diet, which she has adopted, as well as her thoughts about Supreme Master Ching Hai’s noble work in advocating the cruelty-free lifestyle to save the planet. She [Supreme Master Ching Hai] is prophetic. She early on knew the crisis the Earth would be facing and she started to take actions. She is a great woman. VOICE: Our Association members, who helped to organize the Carnival, hosted several o the numerous booths at the festive gathering. One of them included food served by Loving Hut, an international family of restaurants encouraged by Supreme Master Ching Hai to offer the opportunity for all to have nourishing, delectable, and affordable plant-based cuisine. Others displayed climate change information as well as Supreme Master Ching Hai’s #1 international bestselling books, “The Birds in My Life,” “The Dogs in My Life,” and “The Noble Wilds.” In addition, complimentary copies of Supreme Master Ching Hai’s books entitled “From Crisis to Peace” were also shared. Organizers from Formosa (Taiwan) of the Carnival were members of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association, Taiwan Heart, Lions Clubs International 300A2, the Jinghua Society Cultural Foundation, the Earthlife Company and Allynx Healthlife Incorporated.
