Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hello Derik. What are you doing? I’m taking a Bible class and we’re learning about the history of the church. Oh. Sounds kind of boring. Is that a Bible? Yes it is. Actually, it’s more interesting than you think. The part I was just reading is really quite remarkable. What do you mean? What does it say? Well, it’s talking about when the church first gathered together, it was like a big family. They studied and learned together. They simply wanted to encourage each other and help each other. What’s so remarkable about that? Well listen to this part: “The followers of Jesus met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.” Isn’t that amazing? They shared everything? Even if it meant selling their own stuff? They were willing to do that? You sure don’t see many people doing that today. Everyone just wants to get more for themselves. I know. But can you imagine living in that kind of community? Everyone sharing and thinking of other’s needs first? Here…. Would you like an energy bar? For some reason, I feel like sharing with you! Thanks! Hmm... Maybe you would like to read more of this book. Maybe so. Although it seemed a little boring at first, I think now I might be interested in reading some more. REAL FRIENDS share with one another.
