I'm pretty sure he's just high all the time. Wiz Khalifa likes to smoke weed, and he makes music. I don't want to sound like one of those hipsters, but I prefer his old music. (Finebros) When he died, did that impact you? Not necessarily, 'cause I had no attachment to it since I didn't see the franchi-- I haven't seen the entire franchise. When certain celebrities that are important to you pass away, it just feels sort of like a part of you is gone. Even though I don't know him and I never met him personally, it's as if I knew him. I cried as if I knew him. To a lot of older people, you'll see somebody die on the news and stuff that was famous, and kids will be like, "Who is that?" But we don't really see somebody from our time that dies. Everyone makes such a big hype about Michael Jackson dying or this person dying or Paul Walker dying, and then no one really cares about the other small people. (Finebros) So Charlie Puth mentioned that, when he wrote this song, he was thinking about a friend of his who he lost at a young age as well. When you hear a song like this, does it make you think about those types of things-- people you've lost or the concept of losing someone? Yeah. It gets your brain thinking about it. I end up thinking about death and what happens after death. Music is powerful that way. Music can make you feel so many crazy ways; it's unbelievable. I'm definitely gonna have a different perspective on it now that I know who it was written for. When you know why it was written, then you start thinking of how also it pertains to your life. Maybe that's why it's really popular, 'cause people feel like they can relate, and they feel like it's part of them too. (Finebros) There's been some criticism that the song has for not being that original and also that it is exploiting people's feelings for Paul Walker for profit. Do you think there's some merit to that criticism? Yeah, definitely. To me, I just think people are looking at it the wrong way. It's a legitimate song about somebody's loss and how they feel about it. That's not the way to look at it. I mean, of course you're gonna make money with it. Someone is making money, even if it's a charity. There's somebody out there making money from someone else's sadness. I think that's a cynical way to look at it. I think it's a really beautiful cool thing that they did. No, people always have to find something wrong with everything. It makes me so mad. - Why does everything have to be wrong? - Oh, it makes me so mad! (Finebros) So finally, various songs stand the test of time and future generations still know it. Do you think is one of those songs that's going to be remembered? Probably. It definitely has a little bit more substance that could keep it going for a while. No. I don't think anything is possible lasting that long anymore. It's about Paul Walker. And in 30 years when, sadly, Paul Walker's gonna be irrelevant, this song's gonna be irrelevant also. I hope so. I sure hope my kids know who Paul Walker was... - And I'll fight them if they don't. - ...because he's a legend that made the series what it really was. No one can tell.
