You Have Everything but You Don't Have Yourself

你擁有一切 但卻沒有你自己

Do you think its true that the more light you have

你認為：你擁有更多光

the better you can see what is trivial

你將越能看出什麼是微不足道

and outmoded in your conditioning?

Right.

對！

The more comfortable you are

你過着越舒適

the more luxurious you live

越豪華的生活

the more

生命中

richness

的各層面

in all the dimensions of life

越富裕

more is the possibility

越有可能

for you to become aware of one thing:

讓你覺知到一件事情：

that you have everything

你擁有一切

but you don't have yourself —

但你並沒有你自己—

that you are surrounded by all the luxuries

你被一切豪華所環繞

there is nothing more to be added to it,

而無以復加了，

but who are you?

但 你是誰？

Living in a palace

住在皇宮中

but what the hell you are doing here?

但 你在這裡搞什麼鬼？

The question is bound to happen.

這個問題注定會出現

The poor man cannot ask it.

窮人無法問這個問題

He is looking for bread,

he is looking for his children's medicine,

he has no house

You think he will

start inquiring about his

about truth,

about the meaning of life?

It is impossible for a poor man

to be religious.

Science has made available

all the energies.

You are using them in the service of death.

Use them in the service of life.

I would like the whole world

to live so luxuriously

people start becoming

bored with luxury.

You should ask me

你應該問我

how I am bored with Rolls Royces.

How are you bored with Rolls Royces?

Ninety Rolls Royces

九十輛勞斯萊斯

anybody will be bored.

人人都會厭煩

And my people

而我的人

are going to try

還在嘗試

to have three hundred sixty-five.

They are bent upon to bore me.

What you can do?

And the whole earth

is capable for the first time

to be so luxurious

that you don't feel

any material need.

All material needs are fulfilled.

Then what you are going to do?

There is nothing else

than meditation.

That is the only door that is left

still open.

All other doors you have knocked

and seen there is nothing.

和看過的 都一無所有

Only one door

只有一扇門

is still open, inviting.

仍然敞開、邀請

And whoever has entered that door

has never come

從來不曾遭遇

frustrated,

挫折、

disappointed —

失望—

not a single case in the whole

在整個人類史上 連一個

history of humanity

案例都沒有

that anybody who has

任何一個已經

reached

抵達

the center of his being

他本性中心的人

was disappointed,

會失望

felt meaningless,

覺得無意義

was miserable,

會痛苦

committed suicide.

企圖自殺

Not a single exception.

沒有一件例外

That's why I say meditation

所以我說靜心

is a scientific thing.

是個科學的東西

That's how science works:

科學是這麼運作的:

if you can find something without any exception

如果你能找到毫無例外的情況

it becomes rule.

它就成為規則

Meditation is a scientific method

靜心是個科學的方法

because in the whole history

因為在整個歷史上

nobody has

沒人曾經

denied

否認

that it does not lead you

它不帶領你

to the ultimate

到達究竟的

blissfulness.

喜樂境界

This is such

這是如此

a strange phenomenon

奇怪的一個現象

that these politicians go on

這些政客持續地

sympathizing with the poor people,

憐憫著窮苦的人們

with the starving people,

挨餓的、

with the dying people,

瀕死的人們

and the same politicians go on

而同樣的這些政客一直在

throwing food into the sea.

將食物倒進海裡

Ethiopia is dying

衣索比亞快死了

and Europe has thrown

而歐洲卻拋棄了

thousands of tons

數千噸的

of fresh oranges

新鮮柳橙

into the ocean.

到海裡

And the political leaders go on talking

而且政治領袖一直在談論著

about sympathy, compassion.

同情、慈悲

The religious leaders go on

宗教領袖持續

talking about sympathy

談論著同情

and they are against birth control.

而他們反對控制生育

They are against

他們反對

abortion:

墮胎

it should not be legalized.

它不應該合法化

Strange,

奇怪

they are responsible for creating more population;

他們應該為增加人口負責

that means more poverty.

那意味著更多貧困

The politicians are putting seventy-five percent

of their nation's income

into wars,

army,

軍隊

nuclear weapons,

核子武器

and people are dying —

even their own people.

Thirty million people in America itself

are on the streets.

And you are creating nuclear weapons,

and you are

making efforts to reach to the mars

You must have gone nuts!
