- She's constantly just, like, pounding around.

We've already started her young.

So you were here-- she really is precious.

I mean, that--oh, she's gonna fall down.

And you--you met her backstage.

She's such a light. She's such a--

She loves everyone. She smiles.

She does this thing where you-- - I know. She smiles.

- Yeah. - She's absolutely adorable.

And then you were recording this

during the time you were pregnant as well.

- Yes. - How did that happen?

How could you sing while you were pregnant?

- She's just--I mean, it takes up all the room,

so you can't get enough breath. - Yeah.

And so, then I would just start hitting notes

my musical director, who's known me since Idol,

we'd both be, like--

like, he's be, like, "Oh, my God. You suck."

Like--it's like-- we were, like, "God, that was horrible."

Like, I just couldn't hit notes.

I just couldn't carry it.

Like, I didn't have enough air, but yeah.

- Wow. And yet you still debuted at number one,

so congratulations. - Yeah. No, I'm good now.

I'm good now.

- Ah.

No, I know. - Air is--I'm good now.

- What--you're going to be here, and we're gonna talk again

after this, and you're gonna sing.

- Okay. - But I want to address--

I-I know that you have been getting

a lot of criticism, and I just--

- I know. Well, I think--

I love that people think that's new.

- Yeah. Well, so. - Welcome to the past 13 years.

- Yeah. Right. - Yeah.

- Was that, like, first of all,

because you did all of a sudden become very famous suddenly...

- Yeah. - Because of "American Idol."

And then, so, you've been dealing

with criticism off and on. - Yeah, I was the biggest girl

in the show, too, so--

And I wasn't big, but people would call me big.

- Right. - 'Cause I was the biggest one

on Idol, and I've kinda always gotten that,

so I'm, like--I'm like-- like, people, like,

"I'm so sorry that lady in London was so mean to you."

I'm, like, "Are you serious?"

Like, "Get in line." Yeah.

- So, what--I mean, but really, it does.

I mean, I-I can tell you I don't pay attention

to the stuff, either. - Yeah.

- But if I happen to hear something...

- Yeah. - It does hurt my feelings

'cause-- - Well, it hurts your feelings

more if it's someone else that you like.

You know, if it's you, you're just, like, "Whatever."

But, like, if it's, like, somebody--

I think what hurts my feelings for people

is then I'll go-- I'll have, like, a meet and greet

after a show, and a girl that's, like,

bigger than me will be in the meet and greet, and be, like,

"Oh, God," and they'll say, "If they think you're big,

they must--I must be, like, so fat to them,"

and it's, like, "You're just who you are."

Like, we are who we are, and whatever size.

[applause]

And it doesn't mean you're going to be that forever.

Like, that's--that's the thing. Like, it doesn't--

sometimes, you know, we're more fit.

Like, some--especially me. I'm such a creative person.

I yo-yo. Like, sometimes I'm more fit,

and I get, like, into kickboxing hardcore.

And then sometimes I don't. - Yeah.

- And I'm, like, "I'd rather have wine."

- Yeah. - Yep.

[laughter]

Yeah.

- Well, and I think that-- that's totally fine

as long as what-- whatever makes you--

as long as you're happy. - Exactly.

- And as long as you feel like you're taking care of yourself.

- Yeah. - You're healthy.

And I want you to be able to have your wine...

- I do, too. - And--and be able to carry

your baby around, so I got you a little gift.
