And the Precision Machining program at Front Range Community College is the place to get started. You know people say how hard it is to move forward in their careers. But here in Colorado there are way more opportunities for skilled machinists than there are people to fill them. And people working in the machining industry can get all the skills they need to move ahead in their careers right here at Front Range Community College. Here, courses are offered in areas like 5-axis machining Swiss-Turn Operations, Mastercam, Manual Mill and Lathe, CNC Mill and Lathe, Metrology, GD&T and more. So experienced machinists can develop the higher level skills they'll need to boost their careers and their salaries. And with hands-on training on cutting-edge equipment plus an industry approved curriculum, taught by dedicated instructors, they're supported and encouraged every step of the way. Here at Front Range, the classes are designed to be small. So we students get all of the individual attention that we need. It's definitely hard work, but it's invigorating to come in and have a new challenge every day, and I'm learning a lot really fast. The program is flexible with 10-week, non-credit evening courses that allow working students to keep earning during the day, while learning at night. It's also affordable, and scholarships can make the already low tuition even more manageable. So when students leave the program they don't take a lot a debt with them. We work with our industry partners to create this program, and our students train on the same equipment they'll use on the job. So they're getting real world, hands-on experience they need to qualify for jobs where advanced skills are in demand. One of the program's industry partners is Woodward, a leading technology company that creates systems for the aerospace and energy markets. At Woodward, we make some pretty cool stuff. Our products are used in the aerospace and industrial marketplace. Our components are precise and there is no room for error. This is a fun job. It's challenging and it's interesting. And the more I expand my knowledge, the more opportunities I have going forward. At Woodward, we need skilled machinists, and we look to Front Range Community College to help provide them to us. They haven't excellent machining program. Mountainside Medical, a manufacturer of laproscopic instruments and jaws orthopedic implants and instruments is another valued program partner. This is a staple cartridge housing that we manufacture here at Mountainside Medical. It's used in a pediatric laproscopic surgical instrument. We are always looking for qualified machinist candidates here at Mountainside Medical, and we work with Front Range Community College to recruit our employees. Companies like these, as well as others, that machine parts for bicycles motorcycles, computers, and more are growing and seeking skilled machinist to join their teams. And many will ultimately advance in these exciting industries. Highly-trained machinists simply have greater opportunities. In fact, with advanced skills they're better positioned to move into management, or engineering--even start their own business. And whatever their career path, at Front Range, students have help charting it from the start. We really support our students. We help each person find the right path for him or her.
