Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Yo, it's Positive Tunes every week where we bring you positive, uplifting songs so that you can break free from your worries, your lack of confidence. And just simply feel better about yourself or feel inspired. And along the way pick up some good English. And this week we've chosen the girl that's made a major breakthrough in the music scene with this song that just makes you wanna play it over and over again on your mp3 player. It's Rachel Platten and her hit song - 'Fight Song'. She had a charting single called '1,000 ships' in 2011, and I still recall playing that song on the radio back then. It has a very catchy melody. However, even though that song made a blip on the radar. After that according to her, she said, "Things quickly dissolved. I lost my manager. I lost my label. I lost a lot of my support. And I was kind of left just trying to survey what was going on in my career, and wondering if I was even going to try to continue." So for the past couple of years she's been playing in bars, traveling miles in a van she bought. Just going back to her roots, the very thing that she has loved since she was little, that was music. Eventually she met Ben Singer of SMG Entertainment and then later on became her manager. He told her to focus on song-writing. And that's when she came down with the song - "Fight Song". A song telling her story. So let's sing this song right now, and learn the English lyrics within it. And please do forgive my singing because this is a girl song actually, and I'm gonna have to sing in a very deep and low voice. Anyways, here it goes. And that is our positive tune for this week - Rachel Platten's Fight Song. A song that is going wild in the United States and all around the globe. I hope you liked it, too. We will see you next week. At the meantime, you can always look me up on Facebook or YouTube. Just search JR Lee Radio. That's J-R-L-E-E-Radio.
