The latest took place in Istanbul's famous shopping street of Istiklal on Saturday.

The nation's health ministry said 36 people, including 12 foreign nationals, were wounded

in the attack. Sky News reports the attacker, suspected to

have links to the Islamic State militant group,... was deterred from his intended target by police

and detonated the bomb out of fear. Turkey was already on edge,... as this is

the sixth suicide bomb attack in the past year,... with the latest on March 13th in

Ankara. The last two such attacks were claimed by

a Kurdish militant group, an off-shoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK.

Countries around the world including the U.S., France, the UK and Greece have expressed their

outrage and condemned the attack.
