Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Pakistanis are shocked and angry after a suicide bomber attacked a crowded children's park in the City of Lahore, killing more than 70 people and injuring hundreds of others. The attack took place on Sunday evening at the popular Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, where families have come to enjoy an evening of recreation. Many casualties were women and children. A breakaway faction of the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, which they said was targeting Pakistan's tiny Christian minority or believed to be out in force celebrating Easter. But the victims came from all faiths. Lahore is the hometown of Pakistan's current prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, and considered one of the country's safer cities. Pakistan has seen a downturn in terrorist violence over the last two years after security forces began to crack down on some hard-line militant groups. But Sunday's devastating attack has raised fears of a resurgence in brutality. Amy Kazmin, Financial Times.
