  • In this video we are reviewing Royal Caribbean's newest ship Ovation of the Seas

  • OK lets start at the top!

  • Decks 14 and 15.

  • Here is the outdoor pool area on-board and the H2O zone for smaller children that is unique to the Ovation.

  • The North Star is a highlight of the Ovation

  • and I would highly recommend making a reservation.

  • You get stunning 360 degree views.

  • On deck 15 you can find the running deck.

  • This ship is well laid out.

  • And as you can see has plenty of sunbeds.

  • Here we have the ships mascots, mother and baby panda.

  • The Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop is unique to the Ovation.

  • Serving delicious dim sum delights, savoury noodles bowls and traditional Chinese deserts.

  • All served by very friendly staff.

  • Towards the back on deck 15 is the rock climbing wall.

  • And a Royal Caribbean favourite the Flow Rider.

  • Plus the excellent Rip Chord by iFly

  • I highly recommend this!

  • Towards the front of the ship is the beautiful solariums.

  • And here we have the family solarium.

  • There is plenty of comfy seating all around the solariums.

  • The adult solarium is simply stunning. It is a real oasis retreat.

  • It has beautiful panoramic views across the front of the ship.

  • Three pools cascade into each other. Accompanied by four large hot tubs.

  • The Solarium Bistro is connected to the solarium and during the day it is an alternative to the Windjammer buffet.

  • On an evening it is transformed into a speciality dining restaurant.

  • The SeaPlex located on decks 14 and 15 is a huge indoor multipurpose arena.

  • Here you can enjoy bumper cars to rollo skating, XBox, table tennis and many other things.

  • The Vitality Spa is located on deck 16. Here you can relax and recharge with an array of different treatments.

  • The fitness centre is huge with a wide range of equipment to suit all fitness needs.

  • The Windjammer Marketplace is main buffet restaurant on-board.

  • Here you can have an astonishing choice of food at an incredibly quality.

  • Stations around the buffet offer made to order specials such as steaks, fish, pasta, stir fry.

  • Breakfast boasts a wide range of choice. From continental meats and cheeses...

  • ... to pastries, Asian dishes, full English breakfasts, pancakes and waffles.

  • The Windjammer is really well laid out and on no occasion did we have a problem finding a table.

  • There is also a tasty array of desserts and ice-creams.

  • Okay let’s have a look at our cabin!

  • We were on deck 9 in a Superior Ocean View Stateroom with a Balcony.

  • What is impressive about these cabins is how much space you have in them.

  • Along with ample storage and really nicecor.

  • The rooms come with a kettle and a really cool desk that can be pulled out to enjoy room service.

  • The bathrooms are compact but well laid out with a large powerful shower.

  • Here we have our balcony which was really large complete with nice furniture.

  • OK! Let’s go down to the main hub of the ship the Royal Esplanade.

  • All around the Royal Esplanade is bars, shops, cafés, and restaurants.

  • The Royal Esplanade is an interesting and exciting area.

  • There is always lots going on with live music at various points through the day.

  • Shore excursions and guest services are located just off the Esplanade.

  • The friendly staff are always on hand to help.

  • All around the ship there is lots of interesting art. Including some really cool interactive art.

  • Wonderland is one of the most beautiful and extravagant restaurants on-board serving post modern cuisine.

  • Bionic Bar is another one of the ships highlights. Who does not want a cocktail made by a robot!

  • Café Promenade serves sandwiches, cakes, cookies and complementary coffee.

  • Located just next door is Sorrento’s serving delicious pizza all day in to the evening.

  • La Patisserie serves specialty cakes and treats as well as Starbucks coffee for a small extra charge.

  • Michel’s Genuine Pub is a small intimate venue that oozed atmosphere.

  • The Music Hall is a stunning entertainment venue that is the most immersive and well themed on the ship.

  • During the day it hosts quizzes and movies.

  • On an evening it is home to the house band Rock the Boat as well as visiting tribute acts.

  • The Ovation has a huge casino on-board.

  • Izumi is a speciality restaurant on-board serving delicious tasty Japanese cuisine.

  • Schooner Bar was one of our favourite places to enjoy a delicious cocktail while taking part in a quiz or enjoying the live music.

  • Chops Grill is a specialty steak house on-board. And is another Royal Caribbean favourite.

  • Here we have another really cool piece of interactive artwork.

  • The Royal Theatre hosts the main show Dreams. It is really large and one of the biggest I have seen at sea.

  • It reminded me of a West End or Broadway theatre.

  • The entertainment and the shows here are technically and visually outstanding.

  • Towards the aft of the ship we have a more relaxed area with more shops in addition to the on-board wine bar vintages and Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver.

  • Moving along towards the aft we come across the Next Cruise desk...

  • ...and Café@Two70 where you can enjoy sandwiches, salads and lovely desserts.

  • During the day Two70 is a nice lounge where you can watch the world go by.

  • On an evening this whole venue transforms into a fantastic cabaret club with robotic screens and a 270-degree projection.

  • Just above Two70 you can find a small library with computers for internet access.

  • Now let’s look at the main dining rooms on Ovation of the Seas.

  • Silk serves a menu of Pan-Asian cuisine.

  • American Icon Grill serves American classics with a modern twist.

  • Chic is a beautiful and stylish restaurant serving contemporary food.

  • Finally, The Grande with a nod to the cruise liners of the past. Serving a menu of classic dishes.

  • What did we think of this ship?

  • We were simply wowed at every turn.

  • This ship has something for everybody.

  • Whether you want to slow down and relax or enjoy high energy excitement.

  • The staff on-board where simply amazing and made it a special experience.

  • Australia and China are really in for a treat!

  • Ovation of the Seas is a beautiful, modern and dynamic ship. We really can’t wait to sail on a Quantum class ship again in the future.
