First of all, we're going to go over the dos and don'ts, about getting up on the wakeboard. Now, it's very effortless. When you're getting up on a wakeboard, you're doing nothing. You're letting the boat do all the work for you, so first of all, I'm going to go over exactly how you do get up, so what you're going to be, you're going to be in this position, with your arms around your knees, tucked up in a ball. Now, when the boat starts to idle and pull you, I want everything to come up inside. It's going to pull you up on top of the board. Now, when it does this, you're wanting to transfer all your weight directly on top of the board, but at the same time, keeping your toes up, and heels down, so as you're coming up on top of the water, the board still is planing up to the surface of the water, so I'm going to go back in the position. Now, when the boat starts to pull you and it's all idled up. It's starting to idle and pull you. You do not fight it. When you start fighting it, you're fighting a big boat, and what's going to happen, is you're going to pop the handle, so you definitely want to keep that from happening. You're just going to let all the water pressure push everything up into you, in a tight ball, and just start rocking up over your feet, and let the boat pull you up. Once you're up on top of the water, you're going to be riding just in this position. Now, you can ride in this position as long as you want. As long as you're up on top of the board, those toes are still up, and you're riding on top of the water. See, I've still got good position, and as I'm riding, and I'm up on top of the water planing, standing up, and putting that handle at my front hip. Again, going from this position, slowly, everything slow, standing up, and then turning my front hip towards the handle, and getting in that straight riding position. Now, another thing that will happen, is if you stand up too early. If the boat starts to pull you up, and you stand up too early, it's going to pull you right up over the front. Before you get on a plane, and you stand up, the board will start snaking out of the water. You'll go over the front, and that will be the end of that, so one more time. Everything, board is out in front of you. Boat is going to start to pull you. Let everything come in, and then up on top of your feet. Then, once you're right on top of the water, slowly stand up, and turn that board, and put the handle on your front hip, and that's how to get up on a wakeboard.
