with basses so fat it makes bitches shake their asses in a rhythmic fashion... like

yo stanky ass auntie does at the family xmas party...

In this video tutorial I will create a simple

trap beat. In future tutorials I will create a lesson

plan for the mainstream electro dance TRAP music that has been created in recent times

with it's DAMN SONS WHERE'D YOU FIND THIS... and fucking KATY PERRYS HARLEM SHAKES.

First what you got to do is come up with a minor chord progression.

Because all TRAP MUSIC is sad. You can't make no happy sound TRAP song.

What the fuck is wrong with you.

I chose the key of Eminor, cause nothing gets me thinking about inequality in America than

than the E minor scale

Also I make my own synth out of the basic preset cause I'm no basic bitch

To make your own synth go to preset. I use Sylenth1.

That I got from the internet

I use basic Square waves and Saw waves, and the number 3, cause I like that number.

Next create an arp. Trap music is loaded with plucky sounding

arps or MARCHING BAND trumpet noises... Why you may ask?

Because... IT MAKES MY DICK HARD!

Now once you make an arp noise create a simplistic yet haunting rhythm.

Make it sound like the mix of the Rugrats intro mallets and a horror film. For some

reason TRAP has a lot of horror sounding arp melodies which make me feel like I'm drunk

and high at the same time... drinking champagne... in a crack house.

Now... I'm all about that bass. Cause fuck the TREBLE that shit hurts my ears.

Put in a sub KICK Trap music has a certain swing to it with

it's sub rhythms... so Place a sub kick on the first beat, and the

fourth beat of the first bar... then a kick on the 2 beat of the 2nd bar. This creates

the basic trap rhythm. To give the sub bass a more melodic structure

one can change the pitch of the bass to match the change of the chord progression. Along

with a fancy fill ever two bars. To make the kick stand out even more...

Layer two kicks on top of each other, one sub bass and one hit... To really break people's

car sub woofers and scare upper class neighborhoods as you drive by... shooting.just kidding The CIA invented

CRACK.

Now you wanna short snappy snare that feels like it's cracking your ear drums.

Now at the end of every 4th beat you can put in a fill be a rise or a fall depending on

your style...Since I'm open minded I go both ways.

You can't have a trap song without people saying HEY every other beat.

It's just not a trap song without it.

The purpose of the HEY... is because it's fun to say HEY on every other beat!

So when you put it all together it sounds pretty neat.

Now everyone's favorite part... the HIGH HATS

This pattern is a SOCA rhythm.I added it to add flavor to the beat.

To create a trap high hat rhythm place a hat on every eighth beat.

Then later you can fill it in-between to get the right sprinker thing going on.

Cause all Trap rhythms have that sprinker thing going on.

It sounds like a sprinkler watering the lawns, remember the 90's

When people used to water their lawns cause we are running out of water very slowly.

Now if you wanna create a really thick fat sub-bass.

Is make sure there is a thing on it.

That thing is known as an EQUALIZER

So maker sure nothing goes above 300hz and you'll have the fattest basses known to man-kind.

Also don't put an 808 kick when you have a bass like this cause it will sound like farts everywhere.

And no one wants to make dubstep from 2012!

Now using a bit of studio magic and animal sacrifices

You can have a beat just like this.

Or like this.

So I being an egotistical weirdo wrote my own rap.

I mix and master in post so any of your nerds who point out the peaking... FUCKYOU.
