- This is just annoying.

- Not weird at all. Just... natural.

- That was so weird! She scares me.

- What did I just watch?

- (FBE) This video was actually cut down.

The full video is actually over ten minutes long.

- Are you serious?

- You don't want to listen to the same thing over and over

and it gets so annoying.

- See, I couldn't finish that.

Is there a meaning to it?

♪ (synthesizer playing) ♪

- (Poppy) Hey.

- What do you want?

- (Poppy) Come on down here.

- Please, no!

- I don't want to come down there with you.

♪ (synthesizer plays) ♪

- (Poppy) Hi, I'm Poppy. - You're freaking me out.

- (Poppy) I wanted to see you. - What the heck?

- (Poppy) Thanks for coming down here with me.

♪ (music steadily growing creepier) ♪

- She's like a creepy doll.

- That one was creepy.

- Now I'm afraid to go to sleep.

- That music is really creepy.

- Eugggh! I got chills got in my spine.

- In this video, I'm gonna talk about how happy I am.

How happy are you? - Not happy now!

- (Poppy) Are you happy most of the time?

- This music sounds like a murder scene.

- (Poppy) Are you happy all the time?

(gasping) Oh no! - I hate you!

- (demonic voice) Poppy, tell them about how much you hate me.

Tell them!

Poppy, tell them about-- - Oh god!

- What the heck?!

- (Poppy) But I don't hate you.

- (demonic voice) Come on, you hate me, remember?

- This is so creepy.

- (demonic voice) Bye. (poof)

- Pew!

- (Poppy) Bye.

- What the heck?!

This is getting creepier.

- For some reason, I just want to watch more.

What are you doing to my emotions, Poppy?

♪ (unsettling music) ♪

- (Poppy) I breath new life into my telephone

with every charge.

My telephone defines me.

- No, it doesn't.

- (Poppy) When it is dead, so am I.

That's how a lot of people are in real life though.

She's trying to replicate a lot of people

that have a phone and if it's on low battery,

they're like, well, there goes my day.

- I think she's saying that technology is everything these days.

Poppy, are you a robot?

I've been waiting so long for this moment,

but we're finally interviewing this plant.

- Okay.

- (Poppy) ...interviewing this plant.

- Dude, plants can't talk.

- (distorted voice) Hello, Poppy. Thank you so much for having me.

- (Poppy) When's the last time you really felt alive?

- This is, like, a basil plant.

Why do you need to talk to a plant?

- (distorted voice) Some days I wake up, and I feel like I could take on the world,

full of life and energy.

And other days, I feel like the life has been sucked completely out of me.

- She's talking to a plant,

and the plant's talking back.

- (distorted voice) You know, I often get down on myself

because of the way I look.

I find myself wishing I was born a human.

- (Poppy) Plants and humans aren't that different.

- What?

- (distorted voice) I guess that's true.

I just wish you would stop killing and eating us.

- (gasping)

- (distorted voice) It hurts when we die.

You just can't hear us scream.

- Why is this happening?

- Too bad, we need-- we need food.

- (distorted voice) Thanks for not killing me, Poppy.

- (Poppy) I like this plant.

- Hmm. I think she's kind of talking about the meaning of life.

- I'm freaked out.

- I think she's psychotic, you know, she's psychotic.

♪ (creepy lullaby music) ♪

- (Poppy) Like, follow, subscribe.

- Like and subscribe? I'm not gonna--

I'm not gonna subscribe to you, weirdo.

- (Poppy) Numbers give my life meaning.

- That's how a lot of people feel.

They'll do anything for likes.

- (Poppy) I feel validated by your views.

- She talks so slow.

- (Poppy) If we have a like button, why don't we have a love button?

- Why?!

♪ (creepy lullaby music) ♪

- (Poppy) I'm uploading a video to YouTube.

- That's just creepy.

- I don't like her at all.

Some of her videos are annoying, creepy, and all these weird things that I hate.

- I just want to set down my headphones, and leave,

and run away right now!

- (children) Question time!

- (FBE) Okay, so who was that girl? - Poppy, I'm guessing.

- "I'm Poppy.

I AM Poppy."

- If I saw that on YouTube, I'd probably just shut my computer off

and just walk away.

- She's said creepy things in a cute kind of way,

but it didn't make it any cuter.

It just made it more creepy.

- (FBE) So this is a girl who calls herself That Poppy.

- Never heard of her.

- (FBE) What do you think of her? - I don't know.

- I don't know. She's crazy.

- She probably wants to murder people.

- You're probably doing that for subscribers,

but then it's, like, creepy.

I feel like I'm gonna have nightmares about it!

- She tries to be weird so people will watch her.

Just like all the other weird people that try to do clickbait.

- The only thing I didn't like about her was her eyes.

Like, she would just stare at you the whole time.

And then everything else was good. I liked her a lot.

- (FBE) Poppy has over 100 videos so far,

and all of them are kind of like this. - Noooo!

- Are they all in a white box?

So she is in a psychotic place.

- You will not make me watch more of her videos!

- (FBE) And, in total, she has over 30 million views on YouTube so far.

- What?!

- Why would someone want to watch that?

- (FBE) Would you say that you liked her videos?

- No!

- No, that I don't like her videos.

I like more funny stuff.

- Kind of.

It doesn't, like, scare me,

but still, like, it leads me to know what she's trying to tell me.

- (FBE) Well, a lot of people are confused about Poppy.

- One of those people is me.

- (FBE) Some people think that she's just being weird on purpose

to get attention, and then others think that this is almost like performance art,

and she has deeper messages with her videos.

What do you think? - I don't know!

Maybe there's some mental issues or something.

- She's trying to be weird.

- Deeper message.

I don't think it's possible for someone to be that creepy.

- I would go with the second option, like performing arts.

She's trying to be someone else.

- It's a little bit of both.

She tried addressing social media and tried doing that,

but the rest of the videos that didn't have anything to do with that,

they were creepy!

- (FBE) So Poppy is also a pop singer.

- What? How have I never heard of her?

- (FBE) She has a VEVO channel and she releases her music there,

so we're actually gonna show you a small part

of one of her music videos. - Great. No!

- Okay, as long as it's not creepy like the others.

- I don't know.

When the questions came, I thought it was over.

♪ (pop music) ♪ - ♪ Oh, oh, oh ♪

- Flying eyeballs, really?

- ♪ Oh, oh, oh ♪

- Oh, jeez, that's a lot of money.

- Money!

- ♪ I used to think I was wrong ♪ - Yep, still creepy.

Still creepy.

- ♪ Gimme some of that cold cash ♪

♪ I want to stuff it in my couch ♪

- She looks like cotton candy.

- ♪ I need them bricks to build my house ♪

♪ Give me all of that, all of that... ♪

- She doesn't seem weird now.

- ♪ If money can't buy happiness ♪

♪ Then why is it so fabulous ♪

- Okay, it's in-between happy K-pop and shining dolls.

- This music video is SO much better than her YouTube videos.

- That's good.

It's not creepy.

I mean, the visuals are kind of weird,

but, other than that, the song is okay.

- (FBE) So seeing that Poppy is a pop singer,

do you think that these other videos are just being made

to try to promote her music career, or do you think

she really is like she seems in those videos?

- I think she's really how she seems in those videos.

If she's not in one, she should go to a mental hospital.

- What my experience with YouTube stars

is that they do YouTube like theirselves.

- Probably, she really is because she pretty much is the same

in her music videos as well.

- I think she's as weird as she seems in those videos

because if you look on her VEVO, then she's still weird.

- It's the first one, where she tries to make people go listen to her music,

but she's so weird that they want to go look at the music videos.

- She could be either.

She could sometimes be like the "Hi there."

But she-- but, like, she could be the creepy girl,

like she is in her videos, but then I think she could

actually be like a cool, relatable, sensitive person.

It's like I want to watch more, but I don't want to watch more.
