Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hey Quinlan My name is JR. I'm a YouTuber based in Taiwan, and my channel is “JR Lee Radio.” Remember to subscribe by the way. I'm currently working here in Guam with your dad. And I gotta say, even though dad is always dad but your dad is awesome. Like all the YouTubers here think your dad is really d*pe! The visual reality stuff, 360 videos Your dad is really something. So I heard you're 9 years old and you wanna become a YouTuber. Or should I say you already are one 'cos you've been posting some stuff on the platform already, right? I can't wait to see it! So give me a link, I will check it out. And as a YouTuber myself. I've been doing it for more than a year. I've got 140k subscribers so far. I gotta say that being a YouTuber is a privilege 'cos you got people following you and they look up to you. They're expecting you to set an example for them. They wanna talk like you. They wanna act like you. They even wanna think like you. So I think it's a lot of power and a lot of responsibility, too. And today I just wanna share with you since you're so eager to become a YouTuber or post YouTube videos... I'm so eager to share with you the reality of YouTuber... so... Here's my working schedule while I'm here in Guam. I usually get up very early in the morning, before sunrise. That's my morning ritual. I do it every single day. And by 7 in the morning, we're at the restaurant getting breakfast. And around 9 o'clock, we're a group of 20 to 25 people, we group up and we set off on our journey following our itinerary. So we go shooting in different places there and here... here and there... We always using our GoPros, our DSLRs looking for some great stuff. A-Roll, B-Roll, Live Streaming And when we're not doing that... we're thinking of it. We're plotting out the script, we're thinking of footage. What we can use, what we can't. How are we gonna cope with the weather, the situation. So that's what it kind of looks like behind the camera. It's a lot of work. And usually around 9 or 10 at night, we go back to our hotel, and we sort of wash up a bit, dress down and we start editing We categorize our files, and then we put it in our software We start doing the editing stuff and it goes throughout the night. So usually when we go to bed it's around like 1 or 2 in the morning. I'm not telling you you have to do the same but it's hard work. So if you think about it, it's actually a lot of effort that you have to put in to it. It takes a lot of commitment and determination just like any other job. Being a YouTuber is a great job, but there's also a price to pay. So when you think of being a YouTuber or Taking it seriously, there's a lot to put in to consideration. So to conclude this, I would say that being a YouTuber takes a lot of determination and commitment especially if you wanna go long... if you wanna go for the long run... you wanna really make it out there, be successful, you want people to follow you, you want people to subscribe and really take something away from your videos. I think it takes a lot of work. However, there is one thing that is even more important and I think it's… something that I really really wanna share with you. So just imagine yourself, you have like… ok… 140k subscribers like me right now or maybe even more, when you get to a million or maybe to Casey Neistat, how about that? With so many subscribers… they are going to look up to you. They are going to expect you to set an example form them. To talk like you, act like you, dress like you, think like you as we just mentioned. And that is a lot of power for one person. There is a specific movie that I do like a lot and I bet you know it. It's Spiderman. “The Amazing Spiderman” And the best line throughout the entire movie is “With great power comes great responsibility” Don't you think so? So in some sense, big YouTubers… Maybe not like me, but people like Casey Neistat, Logan Paul… People like them. They have this great power to influence other people. So when you become like them, you gotta ask yourself this question, “What do you want people to take away from your stuff?” “What do you want people to be influenced by?” So what kind of content you make decides that direction. And that's what I'm trying to do here on my channel. I'm trying to bring a positive impact to people 'cos I believe that is a very valuable thing. So I'm just saying I'm glad to hear that you wanna become a YouTuber. I think it's a great thing. It's a... you know… a big dream to achieve. As I said, tell me your channel. Leave your link right down there. I'll definitely check it out. But this is just from me, from a YouTuber from Taiwan. Some advice. And that's about it. Hope you do well in school as well. And I with you the best, okay? Quinlan One more thing, your dad is really d*pe!
