for my truck.

Because I put in some new steering parts and as you know you always have to get a new alignment

when you put in new parts.

I just put them in and now I am doing a pre-alignment so that I can actually drive around safely.

What I did is, I put a small rope that you see here in the middle of the tire.

It runs from the rear from the one side up to the front.

To the other side, all around the car to the rear again.

This way I can go around and check whether there is a gap, like here.

So what I am going to do now is, I am going to loosen up the adjusting sleeve on the steering

tie rods.

And then that way I will pull in or out the tire.

Whenever I did steering repairs I had to do this, and it always worked out fine.

This is just one idea to do a simple alignment at home, in order to get to the alignment

shop safely basically.
