Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hi there i'm Mark from MarkTeacher.com and this is another IELTS speaking answer. The question in this video is about computers. Who taught you how to use a computer? Actually I don't think any one person taught me how. I was lucky enough to be born in the early 90s, where family computers and personal computers were becoming more widespread. I actually remember my dad coming home with our first family PC around 1995 or 1996, so I was old enough then to start learning how computers worked - what their functions were, what their capabilities were, so I essentially learned intuitively. I just learned by trial and error. I tried doing things and made mistakes and that's how I learned most of the basic functions of the PC. Later on, when IT became a common subject in school, we learnt how to create email addresses, use Excel spreadsheets, and some of the more advanced features at school, but for the most part I'm 'self-taught' with computers - I learned everything pretty much by myself.
