Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Oh my God, I love this part. I was so shook. It's coming back! I'm so excited! - [Jughead] People will look back at this as the exact moment that last bit of Riverdale... - Oh, is this Riverdale? Riverdale? Oh, I'm so excited! Oh, Riverdale! I love Riverdale. It's coming back. I'm so excited! Is this a spoiler? Because I love this show and I have not seen this yet. - [Archie] I came out of the bathroom and there was this man wearing this hood, with a gun, and Pop Tate and then pointed it at my dad and fired it. - Oh my God. I'm not a fan. I know that's a bad-- everyone's obsessed with it. - [Archie] Then he... - [Veronica] Then he what? - [Jughead] For a moment it looked like you were about to say something about that hood guy and you reconsidered. - I love Cole Sprouse. I know Cole Sprouse is in it from Zack and Cody. - [Cheryl] Things are going to be different now, mommy. Better. - Oh, Cheryl Blossom freaks me out. - [Cheryl] You'll see. - What? Riverdale? How did I not hear about this? What? I haven't seen that yet. Okay, that's sick. I still have no idea what the show's about but it looks good. I guess we need another teenage drama and this is it, but Archie, really? There's a difference between and adaptation and just using the names to promote a show. I love Riverdale so much! I literally watched the first season in, like, three days. Oh my God, my heart's already beating. I watched the first season of the show, and I was, ugh. It was so good. - [FBE] So that was the trailer for the second season of Riverdale, which will be premiering on October 11. Mm-hm. Yes, yes! That's so close. I'm so excited. I love Riverdale so, so much. My best friend and I, she's blond, we're going to be Betty and Veronica for Halloween. - [FBE] Fans have been requesting we cover the show for a while, so we're now going to show you some clips from season one. Okay, I'm ready. I love Riverdale. It's honestly such a guilty pleasure. You have to keep watching it. Each episode ended in a cliffhanger, and I was like, I can't just leave it here and go to sleep. I have to watch it. - [Kevin] So, let's start with skinny dipping. Oh, Moose. - [Kevin] And then see what happens. - [Moose] Dude, are you okay? This part had me shook. This is the scary part. I hate this. Oh. What the [bleep]? - Imagine finding your homie like that. That's so scary. I don't know what I would do. He didn't drown. He was shot. Oh my God. This is all just revisiting, all back in my head. - [Jughead] Riverdale wasn't the same town as before. - It was a town of shadows and secrets now. I don't know what to think of it yet. It just seems like any regular TV show on the CW network. It's a little cheesy but it looks interesting. When I first watched that, I literally screamed. I was like, "Oh, shit." Yeah, this was a big turn. Okay, this show is actually pretty good. - [Veronica] Betty, can we make a vow? So retro. I love it. - [Veronica] That no matter what, no boy will ever come between us again. Aww. - [Veronica] Deal? - [Betty] Deal. She's gonna break the deal. I can already tell you. Honestly, get you a friendship like them. And then a guy walks in. And then the dramatic look at Archie. I can't. Like, I can't. So they were already like, "We're never gonna let a boy get between us." And then the two main guys show up? - [Betty] You guys wanna join us? Okay. It feels like it would be one of those Degrassi type shows, you know? Where there's drama everywhere and people dying for no reason. That was so cheesy, but I still wanna watch more. I got chills, I'm so excited. I love Riverdale. Aww, Jughead and Betty are cute. All right, so they're in a relationship, I think. - [Jughead] Hey there, Juliet. - This is so cute. Cole Sprouse is so cute. - [Jughead] Haven't gone all full Yellow Wallpaper on me, have you? They're just perfect for each other. - [Jughead] We're all crazy. We're not our parents, Betty. (laughs) - [Jughead] We're not our families. I love the show, but there's also some fake deep moments. Oh my God. They get so cute. It's so weird seeing him on TV again. - [Betty] What? - Is he gonna kiss her? (gasps) I love them. I love it. This is so cute. And that was the beginning of an era. He's so good to her. If they break up this season, I'm done. Seems very bland. Maybe if I watched the actual show, I'll get into it. What they did was they looked at every previous teen drama and they just took lines from it. I don't have anything against the show, I just think it's overhyped. Oh, I remember this scene. It's where she pops off. Oh my God. I love this part. I was so shook. I love her. That's a good song. The soundtrack makes everything so dramatic. ♪ I can do without ♪ God, I hate her parents so much. They're like, "What the hell is she doing?" Cheryl's my favorite character. This is the first scene where I started to not hate her. She's also crazy, though. I don't trust her. - [Cheryl] Welcome to Thornhill. Thank you all for coming. See, I feel like if I knew the context behind these clips, it would hit me a lot harder. At first, I was like, "Okay, this is a stereotypical, cheesy, character." But then, it's like, "Okay, she's actually a human." Her character just has so much depth to it. I love it. I love that they didn't just make her a complete bitch. They gave her some backstory, too. - [Jughead] You and Archie are my friends, okay? Oh my gosh, this scene. Oh my God. Is this the weirdo scene? I've seen this, okay. - [Jughead] Everyone else, including Kevin, including Veronica, are people that, two months ago, I would have actively shunned. - [Betty] Why? - [Jughead] In case you haven't noticed (speaking along) I'm weird. - I'm a weirdo. I don't fit in. - And I don't want to fit in. Relatable. - [Jughead] Have you ever seen me without the stupid hat on? Oh my God. Such a meme. - [Jughead] Have you ever seen me without the stupid hat on? - That's weird. - (laughing) This is the worst monologue ever. - [Betty] It was just a party, Jug. - [Jughead] It's not just a party. - It's the fact that you don't know or even care... Come on. She's trying to be nice to you. - [Betty] What the hell is that supposed to mean? - [Jughead] Betty, I'm not one of your projects. I don't like this part, 'cause he didn't appreciate it. She's trying to go out of her way to do something for him. - [Betty] You're not a project. You're my boyfriend. - [Jughead] Until you're sick of slumming it with me? - Or until Archie changes his mind and says he wants to be with you? I just can't take him seriously knowing his prior work. I'm sorry, man. I'll give it a try, though. Oh my goodness, this dialogue, it sounds like something I would have written in middle school. For some people, it's addicting, 'cause you need to find out what happens next, right? And I think that's what makes drama shows so popular. I love Riverdale. It's the drama. It's the aesthetics. It's just everything about Riverdale makes it amazing. Usually I can catch on to shows and figure out what's going on, but this show-- I just tried not to expect anything, 'cause it kept throwing curve balls. As a show, it really keeps you on your toes. But just some of the cringey dialogue just makes it a little more enjoyable, 'cause it takes you out of it, but to a point where you can laugh at it, and I appreciate that. I don't hate it. - [FBE] So Riverdale is actually based on something. - Do you know what? No. It doesn't seem like anything. I have no idea. Based on a murder? The Archie comic books? It's a comic. Yeah, it's based off of the Archie comics. - [FBE] So Riverdale is actually based on the Archie series of comics. "Archie?" I've never even heard of that. I've never heard of it. I've heard of it, but I have no idea what it's about, or anything. I didn't even know that, and I was walking in the market one day, and I just saw it sitting there. I snapped my friends. I was like, "What the heck?" - [FBE] So actually, we have a few Archie comics to show you now. Oh, what the heck? These are literally the characters from the show. Oh yeah, I've definitely seen these before. I just never read them. They got the characters pretty on point with their cast selection. Sounds happier. There's not that much drama in this. You can just see the high school drama in this and just compare it to this, you're like, "Huh?" Where did this come from? - You've got the comics right here and then you've got dark looking Riverdale. That's so weirdly different. - These were comics that were essentially meant to be uplifting. Overrunning theme is just that Archie's a good guy, you know? But in the show, he's hooking up with three girls at once, leading one on, being a horrible person to his "best friend." - The show is about a murder, and betrayal, and people's relationships. And this is, like, a comedy slash teach some kids some good morals. That's cool, I guess, but I just don't understand where they even got the idea for the show from this. - (FBE) So now we're gonna show you some images of the characters from Riverdale next to the characters from Archie comics that they're based on. - Okay, cool. - (FBE) So here's Archie and Jughead. - Yeah, that's amazingly on point. - I can kind of see it. They got the hat down. - I like how even though the personalities are very different, they kind of kept the looks the same. - It takes these nice, innocent, sweet characters, and it just makes them these horrible people who you can't have sympathy for, 'cause they're just mean. - (FBE) And then here are our female characters. - They know what they're doing. If they want to go off of the books solely. - They did a really accurate job. All of the actors look pretty much like their characters. - They're just so serious in these actual pictures and in the comic, they're all like, "Hi!" - So I really like this. I'm so into it! It's such a cool concept to take the Archie comics and make it a whole murder mystery. - (FBE) Cheryl Blossom is actually going to be in FBE's upcoming movie. - F*&% the Prom. I love Madelaine with all of my heart. I wanna be her best friend. I love her. - Really? I'm gonna have to see that movie. - Oh no way! Really? Even though I don't really like her character, just 'cause she's a bit of an antagonist, I still appreciate her as an actor. - (FBE) Finally, with the second season coming this week and talking about the show today, what do you think about the concept of Riverdale and the cast? - I have nothing against the cast. I'm just gonna come out and say it. They're actors. They're doing their jobs. If people enjoy it, people enjoy it. Whatever, it's not my cup of tea. I'll watch it when I watch it with my sister, 'cause she loves it. If you're gonna adapt something, at least take into consideration what the original source material was trying to address and portray. - I like all of it. I like the actors. I like the concept of the show. I like all the twists that they throw. I like who they casted. - I think it's always cool when you take a version of something that existed before and you put a different spin on it. I think you can relate more to something that is darker. - The show is amazing. I think it's doing great. I think that it's probably gonna be on for-- it's probably gonna be one of those, you know, six season, Pretty Little Liars. - I really have no complaints about it. 'Cause even if the dialogue makes me laugh sometimes unintentionally, I still love everything about the show. It brings joy to my life. And I'm so emotionally invested that I need season two immediately. - Thanks for watching, guys, and big thanks to Hockey God for watching last week. - Subscribe and hit the bell. Maybe you'll get a shout out just like BM. - Hey guys, it's Sabrina. This has been my last episode of Teens React, but you guys can catch me on Adults React.
