In some restaurants, they eat their meals at low tables on tatami floors. 2. For Japanese people, sharing dishes at the table is not common. Each person has their food. 3. Many Japanese people slurp when they eat hot ramen noodles. They do that because they are enjoying the food and want to show it. 4. They don't eat soup with spoons. They hold their bowls to their mouths. 5. They keep their chopsticks on the chopstick rests, not on their bowls. 6. Waving chopsticks in the air during a meal is not polite, so remember not to do that. 7. Some Japanese people eat sushi without using chopsticks. They use their fingers. After they finish eating, they always remember to wash their hands. These special table manners are important to Japanese people. Don't forget them when you are on vacation in Japan.
