Woah. That was really weird, wasn't it?

Yeah, it was.

Why is that?

Well, even though this greeting has the word "doing" in it,

嗯，雖然這個問候語中有 doing 這個字

it doesn't actually mean we want to know what you are doing.

但其實這並不表示我們想知道你在「做什麼」

Exactly. Actually,

"How are you doing?" has exactly the same meaning as "How are you?"

How are you doing? 跟 How are you 的意思是一模一樣

So, you can respond to it in the exact same way

所以你可以用任何你平常回應 How are you? 的說法

as you would with "How are you?," right?
