Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles The T34 is an American Tier VIII Premium heavy tank. It has a fantastic gun, the most powerful one in its tier. No other Tier VIII heavy tank has an average armor penetration of 248 millimeters, with a full 400 points of damage. Even though such power comes at the cost of a 14 second reload, it's worth it! When fighting equal tier opponents the T34 rarely has to look for a weak spot, as it can just punch through the front armor of its enemies. Even Tier IX-X opponents should know to respect its gun. The T34 is a dangerous tank even at the bottom tier of a match. The T34 has a great turret, with 279mm armor on the front. A large gun mantle covers almost everything from head on, except for the commander's hatch and a small part of the cheeks. With the angles, shells hitting them often just ricochet. You can, and indeed should, make use of this in combat. For example when firing from cover the T34 shows only the sturdy front of the turret to its enemy, and can concentrate on aiming its devastating shots in peace. Just don't forget about artillery – it's one of the most dangerous enemies of the T34. The T34's hull isn't armored as well as the turret: it has 102 millimeters on the front, 76 on the sides and 51 in the rear. It's not as bad as it sounds though. The glacis plate is well angled, which helps to increase the protection. In some cases the T34 can even tank by side-scraping. The wide tracks cover its sides completely, providing additional protection. While a knocked off track is a cause for some concern, it also means a couple of seconds of rock steady aim for sending a heavy reply back to the enemy. Of course it's better to not expose the hull at all. Preferably the enemies should only see your turret. Every map has terrain you can use: ditches, walls, piles of rubble, and enemy tank carcasses can all be used to provide the necessary cover. Because of the great gun depression even hills can be used as cover. The T34 can climb a hill, peek over showing only the gun and the mantlet, aim, take a shot and retreat for the reload. The T34 is at its best on medium distances, fighting in the second line of tanks. Face-to-face the strong front, along with good gun elevation angles help it survive. In close combat the commander's hatch becomes vulnerable, but turning the turret can make aiming for it difficult, or place the gun barrel in the way. The first set of crew skill are sixth sense for the commander, and repair for everybody else. The ability to escape from artillery in time and to quickly repair a broken track are crucial for this vehicle. Additional skill picks depend on your personal play style. You can get “brothers in arms” to boost the general skills, or you can go with the crew positions' unique skills. For example, commander's “recon” and the radio operator's “situational awareness” can help with the view range of 360 meters, and the gunner's “snap shot” improves the gun's stabilization. You can even have no specific crew for the T34 at all, and use it for training the crews of your other American heavy tanks. When it comes to installed equipment, these should boost the tank's advantages and compensate for its weaknesses. The rammer is mandatory for increasing the reloading speed. Next are the vertical stabilizer and the enhanced gun-laying drive, which will increase the speed of our aim. If the crew have “brothers in arms” you can swap the gun-laying drive for improved ventilation. For a more careful play style you can take out the stabilizer and carry a binocular telescope. Consumables for the T34 are the standard ones for heavy tanks: a repair kit, a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher. Sometimes you may want cola, especially if your crew have Brothers in Arms. The ability to fight Tier Xs isn't the main advantage of this vehicle. Any Premium tank is a tool for making credits, but the T34 is something special. Earning 100,000 credits in a single battle isn't all that uncommon with it. The T34 is a real gold rush on tracks! If you like this American steel monster, you can get one from the Premium Shop.
