  • So, you're going to Genoa, but you don't know what to do?

  • Well, you've come to the right place!

  • Hi guys how are you? These are my top 10 tips on doing Genoa in one day.

  • Number 1: Piazza della Vittoria.

  • Start by visiting this majestic square, located just in front of the Genova Brignole Train Station.

  • In the center you'll find the triumphal arch, dedicated to the Genoese who fought during the first world war.

  • In the background, have a look to the Christopher Columbus Staircase, where you'll see the caravel of Columbus, made by floral decorations.

  • Number 2: Via XX Settembre.

  • Turn right and walk along via XX September, the shopping street.

  • Walking up, you'll pass around prestigious shops and elegant clubs and bars.

  • And you'll walk below the majestic monumental bridge.

  • It's the perfect place to yield to a slice of Focaccia or a Panarellina, one of the most famous cakes of Genoa.

  • Number three: De Ferrari Square.

  • After walking for Via XX September, you'll reach Piazza de Ferrari, the central square of the city.

  • This is not the biggest one, but it's the one most loved by the Genoeses.

  • Turn your face up and admire the big fountain, four eclectic buildings, the Ducale palace and the famous Carlo Felice Theatre.

  • Number four: the Cathedral of San Lorenzo.

  • Built around the year 1000, it guards lots of legends.

  • One of the most famous is the "San Lorenzo little dog" one.

  • According to the legend at the final works of the Catedral, one of the sculptors dog died.

  • He loved so much that dog that he decided to carve a tiny sculpture of the sleeping dog into the marble at the entrance.

  • Number five: the old port (Porto Antico).

  • Keep walking in San Lorenzo street and reach the old port area, commonly known as EXPO.

  • Because it hosted the Universal Exposition in the 1992 and it has been completely renovated by the architect Renzo Piano.

  • Now this is a gorgeous area.

  • There're the Genoa Aquarium, the Sea Museum and lots of attractions for children!

  • Number six: the alleys.

  • Ok, Genoa's old town is where all the tourists go, but that's because it's gorgeous!

  • Spend few hours in the alleys, where the famous singer Fabrizio De Andrè has born.

  • My tip? Get lost and look around you. It feels like you travelled back in time.

  • Number seven: The Annunziata Church.

  • Just next to the old town you'll find the Annunziata Church.

  • Not into churches? Just have a look at it anyway.

  • From outside, it looks like a normal church, but insidewell, it's gorgeous!

  • Number eight: Via Balbi.

  • Next to the Annunziata church, you'll find Via Balbi, home of the Genoa University and of the Royal Palace.

  • Get into it, and imagine how the king used to live.

  • Number nine: Via Garibaldi.

  • That's definitely my favorite part of the city.

  • It's a pedestrian street, considered as a UNESCO world heritage site.

  • You'll walk in the middle of fourteen magnificent palaces built between the 16th and the 18th century, which have enchanted travelers from all over the world.

  • Are you an art lover? Then you'll find Flemish painters' masterpieces.

  • The Paganini's violin, amazing artworks, and frescos all worth of any king.

  • Number ten: Spianata Castelletto.

  • For sunset, head to the hills in the Spianata Castelletto.

  • A place which hosted a small fortification which helped defend the city in the past.

  • Now the castle isn't there anymore, but the view is a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

  • The perfect photo for your Instagram.
