Let's go! Here you can study together with Japanese high school and college students. So you can practice daily what you learned in classes. Let's go inside! (Teacher): What does Sakuma-sensei like? (Student): Tobacco! Is that true? Does Sakuma-sensei really like tobacco? When I think of this school's strong points, I think it's the fact that there are many different types of students. Of course, there are foreign students, but not only that. There are Japanese college students- -and Japanese high school students as well. Furthermore, the (college) teachers are from several different countries. I think the fact that you get to meet a lot of different people, is the school's strong point. You get to experience cultural exchanges with many people, and it is a design school after all- - so if you'd like to study some specific form of design, you have that choice. I like fashion design, and I wanted to try that. That's basically why I chose Yokohama, but I'm very glad I did because I really like this school. A lot. Yokohama is not that busy of a town. It's not like in Tokyo, it's like in the middle. That's why I love it here. And the weather is good all year. Yokohama is very close to Tokyo, it takes about 30 minutes. But it's not as crowded- -and has got a lot of wide open spaces. I'm the principal of Yokohama Design College, Ikeda Shunichi. We have something called an "open class". Basically, it means putting college students- -Japanese high school students and language students in the same class. In other words, foreign students and Japanese students get to study something together. Like what? Well, learning Karate, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, playing guitar, and dance for example. We do these kind of classes around 20 times a year at our school. In the guitar class, we have high school students, vocational school students, and foreign students. Together. That kind of class. In the class I'm teaching right now, A6, there are students from Nepal, Thailand, Sweden,- -Finland, Vietnam, India, and Bangladesh. Many different countries, however, no Chinese students, so we have to put a lot of energy into learning kanji. My favorite manga is One Piece, yes. It's the one I'm reading right now. To everyone, we'd be very glad to have you here at Yokohama Design College. We would be very happy if you chose to learn at our school. You are most welcome here. We look forward to meeting you.
