This proverb is originally credited to Joseph Addison an essayist An English poet and essayist. Of course, so it was originally a quote that came from him. Let's continue. The proverb today basically means that if you don't make a quick and definite decision, you may lose a good opportunity. All right. Let's take a look at the first example. You definitely hear this proverb used with investment analysts. They often say he who hesitates is lost when either encouraging someone to take advantage of a good buying opportunity or a good selling opportunity. Yeah. So with the buying opportunity, they say well now is the time to buy. If you don't you know maybe the price will go up, and you lost a good entrance point. You lost a good point where you can make a nice profit and it may go much higher it's about to take off. You know , it's about to go considerably higher. Where you can make big profits, but if you wait too long well then it will have already gone up a lot, and I don't know if you could still make some money. But you won't make the big profit that they were saying you should. The same could go for selling opportunity maybe you know when it gets up really really high and you're thinking about selling or maybe you're not, maybe maybe you make the mistake and think Oh it'll go higher and higher and higher and higher and you don't take the good opportunity of selling as well. And you wait too long and it comes down and you lost a lot of profit you could have made. So they might use it in both ways so we hear it in business with investors a lot , you know, he who hesitates is lost. You wait too long, you lost your chance, you lost your good opportunity. Okay. Let's look at the second example. The second example of course has an a/b part and A says, after Sally broke up with her last boyfriend, John really wanted to ask her out. But he waited too long and she ended up starting a relationship with another guy. Yeah. So he hesitated. Maybe he thought she needed more time, and before he knew it, somebody else got her. Somebody else started dating her. So he lost his opportunity and of course B here says, well he who hesitates is lost. You know , that's what happened. Well he had his chance. He waited too long. Okay anyway that's the way we use it. I hope you got it. I hope it was clear. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
