hours and low pay the average starting wage for college graduate in Taiwan is
only 34 thousand a month at the same time
Taipei has one of the most expensive housing markets in the world that means
it will take 40 years to buy a tiny apartment in Taiwan's capital this
generation is the most passionate and talented as any generation before it but
they are held down by monetary concerns one of the main reasons young Taiwanese
take bad jobs with some of the longest hours in the world is because they must
pay their bills - they're surviving not living. Basic income for young people
offers Taiwanese the breathing space to pursue their own dreams. Our polls show
young Taiwanese want to use basic income to find a job where they will excel
start their own business or develop their skills. That's why we believe basic
income is an investment in Taiwan's future
