And I am the accessibility lead for Search and Assistant. In this video, I'm going to demonstrate the verbose mode, which is available for some features in the Google Assistant. Verbose mode may come in handy for those who have trouble reading text on a TV screen. Chromecast is a small hardware device that connects to your TV and lets you stream videos and programs directly onto it. If you do have a Chromecast and a Google Home, you can use your voice to stream videos onto your TV. I do have a Chromecast connected to a TV here. And I also do have a Google Home. So I can say, hey Google, play cat videos on living room TV. [BEEP] GOOGLE ASSISTANT: OK. Here are some options showing on living room TV, which one would you like? [BEEP] KIRAN KAJA: I am blind. And so, I cannot really read the list of options on the screen. That, means I cannot choose the video that I want to play. This is where the verbose mode comes in handy. It enables your Assistant to read the list of options on the screen. So I can just turn on verbose mode by saying, hey, Google-- [BEEP] --turn on verbose mode. [BEEP] GOOGLE ASSISTANT: OK. I turned on verbose mode. Now the options on the screen will be read out loud. KIRAN KAJA: Now, if I ask for cat videos again-- hey, Google-- [BEEP] --play cat videos on living room TV. [BEEP] GOOGLE ASSISTANT: Sure. Here are some results for cat videos showing on living room TV. There are 20 videos. Here are the first four. Number 1, "LIVE-- Hyatt the blind feral cat, TinyKittens.com". Number 2, "Try Not To Laugh Challenge, Funny Cat and Dog Vines Compilation 2017." Number 3, "Cat and Scarab Mummies, Lion Statues and Sealed Tomb Found in Egypt Ancient Architects". And number 4, "Petco helping your dog, cat eat healthier". KIRAN KAJA: Verbose mode is one of the many ways in which we are working to make the Google Assistant a really powerful tool for people with disabilities. For more ways your Assistant can help you in your daily life, check out the rest of the videos in this series linked in the description below. We love to hear from our users.
