As winter nears 2
it's time to turn the clocks back an hour. 3
Sunday at two a.m., 4
Americans can rejoice in gaining an hour of sleep. 5
The downside of daylight saving time? 6
It will get darker earlier. 7
But here are some tips to help you adjust. 8
One, your internal clock may not 9
be aligned with the time 10
so instead of going to be an hour earlier 11
all at once, 12
one doctor suggests go to sleep 13
15 minutes earlier one night 14
and then 30 minutes the next. 15
Two, once you get your rhythm back, 16
stick to it even on the weekends. 17
It will help your body adjust better. 18
Don't be tempted to fill the extra hour 19
with more activities. 20
Three, turn off all electronics 21
an hour before bed time. 22
Doctors say the light tricks your brain 23
into thinking it's daytime 24
and effects the quality of your sleep. 25
There's plenty of time to relish in your new routine. 26
The clocks won't change again until March 27
when they jump an hour forward. 28
Then Americans will lose an hour of sleep, 29
but get an extra hour of daylight. 30
With that, goodnight and good luck. 31
