-Yeah. "Narcos: Mexico" is the story of the '80s in Mexico,

how the madness started, the madness we're living today.

It's a very powerful series, I think,

because it's somehow connects

with the world we are living in without you knowing.

By the end you go like, "Holy crap.

That's why the violence today.

That's why what we're going through today."

And for me, it's an interesting way to tell the world

that the violence we're living in Mexico these days

belongs to all of us, you know?

This is a global issue,

you know, and we're getting the violence.

And this story tells you why we're getting the violence

and what's happening and how much

this is not a story of good and bad people, you know?

There is many layers there. -Yeah.

-And corruption is everywhere. You know?

-You do such a great job acting in this, I will say,

just to compliment you while you're here.

But you don't play -- 'Cause you are a bad guy.

-Yeah.

-But you don't play it like a villain.

You're actually just -- Right?

-Well, you cannot judge a character as an actor, you know?

Then I step back, and I don't justify his actions.

But when I'm playing it, I have to understand

why he's doing what he's doing,

so I have to find a way to connect with the character.

You know? And that's the job we have.

And that's the beauty of our job.

We are playing a gang there,

and we are trying to make a character real.

Now I step back, and I see the story,

and I am so glad, like, we end shooting the second season,

because it's -- it's -- it's exhausting.

You know? The material is hardcore.

But then I go back home, and I cannot tell my kids where I was.

You know?

-You can't tell your kids what you did all day.
