The Florida Department of Health waited more than 24 hours to tell the public about two local Corona virus cases, the CDC confirming those cases.

Tonight, a patient from Hillsborough County and another from Manatee County and a Sarasota military academy now says one of its students and his mother are currently quarantine state health officials, monitoring nearly 200 people.

Pressing for answers are Isabel Gonzalez joins us live outside the testing lab for the Department of Health and Tampa Isabel, what can you tell us about the patients?

They're both thankfully doing okay.

One of them is a woman in her twenties out of Hillsborough County Health Department here, telling us that she has recently traveled to Italy.

But the big question tonight is about that other patient.

The big question here is that they don't know how he got the Corona virus.

We're learning one of the patients, a Manatee County man in his sixties with no travel history.

Two countries of concern.

Governor Rhonda Santa's expects more cases will follow but says the vast, vast majority of people who acquire it will not require hospitalization to Santa's.

Urges anyone who has traveled to Asia, Italy and Iran to self isolate and anyone with symptoms to call the Health Department.

Now public outcry after Florida authorities delay in alerting the community about these cases by 24 hours, plus a representative of the D.

H in Sarasota, calling it a hoax to ABC Action News just hours before confirming it to be true.

They call this a hoax completely false.

Onley there backtrack hours later with the press release.

Why would they call it a hoax?

Such strong language I can on Lee comment on the fact that we're all here right now today to inform about this important development within our state.

We have always been very pro active in terms of letting the public know that this is coming.

Surgeon General Scott Ricky's insisting his office quickly informed the public as soon as the patients were evaluated and contained.

We can also expect to get test results a whole lot quicker.
